Like, at the start of the show this Danny Rand guy comes to New York with no shoes on and doesn't understand why when he goes into a corporate building the security guards ask him to leave. They spend the first half hour of the show making this point about how white people make assumptions and don't look at things closely, and it's ironic and racist because the writers obviously didn't think long enough to figure out that even in the most remote part of Asia for 15 years this guy would have figured out somewhere between the Himalayas and New York City that he needs to wear goddamn shoes. Fuck I have better internet here in Malaysia than I ever had in USA. In episode 3 he is in a martial arts dojo giving a speech about showing respect to the dojo while being the only person in the room wearing shoes. These writers just can't get ahold of the shoes thing. The Asian girl randomly has a throwaway line about how she speaks Japanese and Mandarin, because clearly Chinese and Japanese are the same thing, and then goes on to never speak either of them. Why was that line included? What was the point? Later on they give her a jacket with tigers on it because you know that's what Asian people wear obviously. She talks about the "bushido" code while doing Kung Fu moves later on because obviously they're the same thing too. It's just jarring. They add in pointless bits of dialogue that are just really stereotypical and tropey that don't add to the narrative.

Goes to system repair, fails mid diagnostic. Managed to get it to stay active long enough to try a system restore in case the recent Windows update borked something, failed mid restore so now I'm worried it's fucked worse. It's not the power supply in all likelihood because the power stays on when it crashes, just the monitors go dark and the hard drives keep spinning. Just trying to avoid 'taking it in' and having some nerd tell me 'welp u fukt' after paying them 150$

That would require what, attempting to boot off the windows disk? Because I have another drive but it doesn't contain the startup files. I have to find my frigging windows disk regardless ugh. Haven't seen it in 7 years. This should be fun.

Best bet does seem to be to find an alternative way to get the computer to boot up but without a copy of windows on my other drive I dunno how I'm gonna make that work, and I don't have a lot of time in my week to start fucking around and looking for one.

It's a stored memory thing. It'll detect as a "new" drive and might actually full boot to windows. IE Windows is fucking dumb some times.
