The Bean side series is good imo and worth reading. Also where is the Shizune/Hanako/Emi representation yo I actually read Ender's shadow before reading Ender's game. I felt orson scott cards writing felt a bit more complete with shadow, than it was with game, but both were extremely good. My favorite is probably still Speaker for the Dead. I still think Ender's Game is best, but maybe because when I read it I was hard into space battles and such. Heh. quite possibly. Also, don't know how such a douchebag can write such a great series. #scottcardisanasshole.

Ender's Shadow definitely had better writing overall, but it also suffers from OSC trying too hard to write about supergeniuses and repeatedly driving in JUST HOW DAMN SMART Bean is to the point where it got a bit awkward and cringey.
Still a fantastic book though. Ender Game/Shadow satisfied soooo many nerd fantasies of introverted nerdy kids everywhere XD

Not even close. The thing that makes them interesting (for me anyway) is the flaws and oddities that make each character unique.
