the technology is some five years away by bezos' own estimation, which is probably optimistic this pr grab (which is basically all the announcement was) is unusual for a typically silent firm like amazon, and the cynical perspective is that it's an effort to whitewash the company following a rash of bad publicity to the disinterested consumer, this is something that gets the 'neat' response and nothing else as people get on with their lives | ||
