In high school, my parents were always on my ass about how much I was playing games (mostly WoW). But come college time, and after I got really into LoL, they started being more supportive. It was really after I hit plat and I was talking to my dad about the game and that I was technically in the top 1% of the NA ranked, he was like "oh shit". It's an essentially meaningless stat in reality, but I think it was the moment my dad realized I wasn't completely wasting my time, per se. Since then, they've been pretty supportive of my goals of potentially working in the gaming industry in the future.
He was also really interested when I started getting into casting, and still asks about it every once in a while. so jelly of flexible parents. my parents didnt even flinch when i told them i was #5 on the ladder. "not even #1" fuck that that sounds pretty asian of them

You guys think you know something about rivalry? It probably doesn't compare to the intensity occurring presently at my school.
There's a ton of kids directly connected to Valve, and thus play Dota 2. The elitism threatens all of us few LoL users at my school. The pressure every day is unbearable.

Something along those lines. What if you told them you have cancer?

Some things you just can't delay.

Given your starting point that could take awhile, how badly do you want to slap him?

I do, it's being your fucking tech support. -.- My mom has 11 siblings and I have to do the tech support for all of them because I work in computers and everyone knows it. Its the stupidest thing doing tech support for people that don't know english well and type 3WPM. Its painful making them type a long url because theres no way to send them a URL, whether it be a link to download something or just like a youtube/movie link because they wanted me to find them a chinese video.

it'd be good to just tell him he's bad, and that if he doesnt watch it soon things are gonna get ugly

Who else is ready for "Happy Thanksgiving! ...Hey, can you fix my computer?"

Well most of them end up typing it into the google homepage in the middle of the screen. The first time this happened I was so confused how X wasn't on the screen but now I expect that 50% of them will type whatever I told them to type into google. Its also hilarious getting them to type "/" and capital letters.

Yeah, pretty much this. I was number one on the Diablo 2 hardcore ladder for a period of like two months when I was in junior high.
My mom told me to imagine how good all the hundreds I could have gotten in school with that time instead would have been.

Alright, I'm finally replacing my pos laptop, Black Friday week yay. What are your thoughts about this one. Midrange and really damn cheap for the specs. Don't expect much battery life with it, and the heating is probably a bitch (may get an anti-heat fan for it), but teh valuez. Might even up it to this for slightly worse gfx and a larger screen for only $40, but not werth I think, as the resolution's the same.
I am concerned about Lenovos' shoddy tech support, though. Better than HPs, but that's not saying much.
