You think this is something limited to just one subreddit? Go google transverse subreddit and realize the very creators of that product wanted to run the subreddit so they could deal with negative feedback. Or how the mwo subreddit split because those mods refused to remove negative threads about the game. So what happened? The dev's made another subreddit one they could make sure remained positive and upbeat about the game.
