it's dependent on major/department per college. Obviously it'll hurt him in the engineering departments, but as an overall congregate assuming his GPA is decent it should be fine.
Oddly enough, UW has a much-improved in-state acceptance rate. So maybe being white upper class in-state male liberal arts major won't bring me down after all!

What do you like? lol. If you're fairly lost, I'd definitely suggest doing a ton of different internships in different fields.
