Would probably start a fresh run for it after the next Long War patch hits so I can play around with country bonuses. My early strat (Start Asia, let Sat get shot down, build up sats in NA/SA) will no longer be applicable then.
Want to get use to the difficulty of Long War Impossibru (so far just looks like lots of ailens, LOTS AND LOTS of aliens versus Classic difficulty; like these early missions definitely have at least 50% more aliens).

Ran for an hour and did abs today, not bad considering I was so close to not going.

Right now I'm considering just modding away gravely wounded Will malus if I do. Because srsly, I think I'm going to need it to keep from declaring like half the roster useless later into the game (and hence like most of OT, if we're sticking with char development here).
Also note I love playing with training roulette and the random level up stats so...
it'll be just like fire emblem!

Training Roulette leads to such awesome characters. I look forward to the stream LT. now you can't pull an asmo and make us wait half a year.

I'm mainly asking because I'm finally starting in-house strength training using furniture and stuff. muscle mass, and yeah, lifting bigger weights body weight training will make you more lean
Well, I can't really get much leaner but it feels good anyway.
Oh yeah, and if you're interested (I know it's a long drive for you and you're working) I'm planning on going to this P:M tournament in Maynard tomorrow. I hear it's smaller than Smashing Grounds but hey, it's on a night that I'm not already busy so I'm not complaining.

you can totally get mass with body training, just buy training weights, weighed vests, sleeves, ankle thingies.

LOL I just read silence of the lambs, what a coincidence honestly I don't think I would want a vest with tits on it particularly much sounds a bit weird, don't you think?
Not that I'd condemn anything who would want it, I just don't really see the point of it I guess

You can definitely get some mass with bodyweight only training, it just wouldn't a)come as fast as with resistance training(although for a newbie/untrained individual bodyweight training is resistance training) or b)would have a lower ceiling. There are 'progressions' you can do without adding any weight that make things harder. Using pushups as the go-to example, you can lift your feet up higher to change the angle you're pushing at, place your hands on something so you can increase the range of motion beyond the floor, do them one handed, etc.
|
Can someone explain to me the difference between resistance training and body weight training? I'm not well educated with fitness terminology.
Thanks!

Thanks! resistance is when you are doing work against more than just gravity or your body. added weight, resistance bands, ect. body weight training is when you are using just your body and gravity, like a push-up.

Yeah that's a bit too far for me, and I have things I gotta do tomorrow night.

Well, sure, but when I talk about basic body weight training, it's more the "get toned/just to stay active" type thing rather than the more advanced progressions. But even then, there's only so much you're going to get gainz-wise without picking up and putting down heavier things and adding resistances.
