Now I know almost certainly that it is not because I am not putting enough or putting too much land into my deck since I am sticking to the recommended 23/17 ratio. I know that my issues are largely based on luck and not fixing duo/tri-color issues because my issues are not drawing lands themselves, not lands of speciifc colors (or drawing too many). I know I was personally surprised by how many of my games seem to be decided this way---I might have to start actually keeping track to see if it's simply an observation bias of some sort that makes me feel that way. The only thing that in theory I think I could control in regard to mana flood/screw that I as a newbie am not doing is proper mulligan-ing---I may be taking too many risks with my hands rather than going down to 5 or 4-card hands.

in constructed though i kinda don't count. i like building cheap fun decks rather than play for the expensive shit. in innistrad i played a gutter grime deck (and would beat top decks with it occasionally, which is all i wanted anyway)

From a casual perspective, it is likely confirmation bias. When you end up playing tons and tons and tons of games, you'll still notice when it happens to you, but you'll also experience all the times it happens to opponents, and when it doesn't happen at all. Unless your deck truly is set up so poorly that your in deck mana is that bad, but I doubt it cuz 6ah helped you with it, right? On February 15 2015 03:05 Cixah wrote: Featured but not on cam yet. Unless your deck truly is set up so poorly that your in deck mana is that bad, but I doubt it cuz 6ah helped you with it, right? Again, it's not that I'm not drawing specific lands that I have problems with, because that can easily be attributed to bad deck building. It's the fact that I either draw too many or not enough, despite using the ideal land/creature/spell ratio. Yes sometimes in limited there's reason to stray from that, or it could be my mana curves not working out, but considering how few games I've played (and 6ah being present for a bunch of that mana screw/flood) it doesn't seem to be the case. I'm not one to quickly blame outside forces---I will gladly admit to my own faults. I'm just surprised in general by how often these do seem to fall to forces outside one's control though, whether or not that happens to be true for me. The variance is pretty high.

I want to play a single elim tourney for the chance at better prizes but I'm kind of afraid to because a) I'm not that good yet/ don't know cards to play around/ don't know the format 100% b) Don't want to play in only one round. I could do swiss but going 3-0 only gives you back your invested packs, so I dunno. Soniv give me your playmat GIEF IT
