Best of luck Cixah. And may it be your luck, not mine. Im being ditched for Valentine's tonight so I think I'll just stream a whole bunch later. Might try to figure out how to buy packs from bots so I can do a 4-3-2-2 draft. Probably BoI too. Oh and I'm super in the mood for SG so one of you had better play with me. Soniv you're single, no Johns. Also also if anyone is interested apparently SG is 75% off until later today http://www.greenmangaming.com/play-together/

How accurate is this nowdays? Uh. This seems pretty inaccurate? In Eternal formats where you have access to loads of cards printed over the years that can fix your mana base, if you get screwed over by your lands most of the time it's probably because you built a bad mana base. There are times where you will just get screwed over by RNG yes, but if that's happening 60% of the time you're doing something very very wrong. Standard format currently has access to lots of powerful cards for fixing mana, and to be honest the last few sets have all had great lands in them. So it doesn't apply there. And in Limited (aka Drafting) it's a test of your card selection and deck building skills so if you get screwed over then again it's basically your fault. Thinking back to era of MtG long ago I still can't think of a time where I've been mana flooded and lost a game 60% of the time when it wasn't my fault for bad deck building... I'd really be interested to know which professional player said that. Because that's a weird stance to take... It's like complaining in Hearthstone your deck contains too many cards you can't play before Turn 6 or something. In which case the solution is clearly "stop playing a deck where most of your cards can't be played before Turn 6" lol. On February 14 2015 23:51 Cixah wrote: Signed up and ready to battle. Everything worked out. I just needed to enjoy my time there. You know inside if you can sink or swim, and since your mind tells you that you're a fucking baller (deep down you know it's true) take it at whatever pace you choose to. Enjoy life. As someone who just turned 20 a few months ago, this is a really nice thing to read. I used to sleep >4 hours a night because of anxiety and stress. Luckily I took less classes this semester and I feel a lot better.

Still pretty absurd but slightly less exaggerated I guess? I think I saw the quote on /r/hearthstone though lol, so not exactly a high tier magic discussion. Google doesn't show any professional player that has ever said this. The closest thing I can find is this thread on r/hearthstone discussing an interview with an MtG Pro where a random person states that. The specific quote in the interview with Stanislav Cifka by the way is: "In MtG, you lose every fifth or tenth game by getting mana screwed or mana flooded (having too few lands to cast your spells or having too many lands and not enough spells to cast). It doesn’t happen in Hearthstone, that’s why the game is so good." He's just commenting on the difference in mechanics between the two games. And it's true, HS is better in this respect because you never end up in a position where mana screw can every happen to you. For more casual players, it feels a lot better because you have exact certainty about when and what cards you can play on every turn. But it's just not some random 60% of games doesn't matter sort of statistic. Like I said earlier, if 60% of your games are being decided by mana, you need to think about how you're building your decks... I would also like to note how ridiculously sensational the article written by GosuGamers is as well. (Note the Kibler comment in the Reddit thread lol) On February 15 2015 01:50 Numy wrote: That sounds more like it but I never visit /r/hearthstone. Both that article and the comments on /r/hearthstone for that article are pretty ass lol. HS is a fine and fun game but half of that thread is people pretending that it's way less random than MtG or something.
