Feels like I won't be able to do much this week-end even though it's supposed to be enjoyable. D: Not enough time to just sit and rest I think. I'll make some room.

TL didn't surrender 50% of the company to enter lol. it surrendered 50% of the company to acquire curse. which is significantly different. unless monte is suggesting curse was worthless. but yeah monte is a douche we all know this. Well TL got Hungrybox out of the deal so it certainly upped their stock as a Smash team.

I wouldn't say Archer was in a slump per say, Season 4 was still incredibly funny, but the status quo change was quite refreshing. Especially since it kind of came out of no where since they were still getting good ratings with the old formula.

Got Sorin, Ugin, Torrent elemental, Mardu Charm + Ascendancy, Anafenza, Crucible of the spirit dragon... I don't think the bots draft rares lol I think the bots picks are based off what humans have picked in previous drafts. It may be that FRF is just too new? But yeah, the bots can be a little sketch.

Throw out as many shit-tier shounens (you can love Bleach/Naruto/DBZ as much as you want, when it comes to exchanging blows, or the way they manage spacing and stuff, even passing up the whole "people can walk on her and swinging a weapon in a direction breaks the momentum of your fall" they're pretty trash) as you want, but for its time EVA was very smooth, and the ay they handled the whole "evacuating the people and sending the town underneath the ground" and stuff like deployment and the EVAs' actual operating range because of the cables stood out for me. I was watching fights, not just vaguely humanoid shapes waving their arms. It wasn't just that, but since Wave wanted giant robots fighting monsters... ![]() Then again, almost universally everyone is an asshole. It just takes more or less digging to find these parts. So... + Show Spoiler + Everyone is a-goo-goo, 'cept Shinji, who more or less overcomes his depression and goes "nope" and resets the world (not timeline, just the world, so everyone remembers what happened previously) to some time before the events of the series. Meaning everyone still remembers the stuff that happened/what they did/that they died/their past issues/etc. and it's happening over and over. Isn't that a lot worse and more depressing (as a setting and for the characters themselves) than the original series behind the varnish then? No dude, no. Okay, here's how it is. + Show Spoiler + So, at the end of End of Eva, Shinji becomes god. They've done this thing called instrumentality, where everyones disparate souls come together and become one. Basically, everybody has a soul, and that soul is a piece of god. When your body is removed, your soul returns to god. So, instrumentality happens and everybodies bodies are removed and their souls return to god. This is what a lot of people in the series want, most specifically Gendo, who wants to be reunited with his dead wife, who "died" in an "accident" in the initial test run of Eva 01. You can go way deep into that with Eva mumbo jumbo but it's this whole everything has to have a soul thing so when Eva 01 was activated without a soul it stole hers blah blah I don't want to go too much into it. But the thing is, when everybody returns to God, it's all sort of controlled by one consciousness right, which is the individual who is merged with Lilith/Eva 01 (all the other Evas are clones of Adam, but 01 is a clone of Lilith). Gendo had this scheme to make that person himself, but Lilith/Rei/His wife rejects him and chooses Shinji instead. So Shinji becomes god. But unlike Gendo, Shinji doesn't actually want to be alone. He's just depressed and doesn't actually understand how to connect with people or get over it / grow up / etc. They do all these weird hallucination scenes in the movie which are basically a low budget montage of how he gets over it. After he gets over it, he decides that he doesn't want to be alone, he wants individuals to be unique again. So he uses this newfound power as god to split everybody up into disparate souls again. The last scene in Eva is supposed to be basically a new Genesis. Adam and Eve (Asuka and Shinji) are created by God, and put on Earth by themselves to populate the planet or whatever. But the thing is, this is a cycle. 100,000 years later or whatever, the whole thing is just going to happen again. The new movies are the whole thing happening again. There's heavy HEAVY allusions to this, made mostly by Kaworu, and allusions that it's happened five times. Mostly from this picture which is what like only a single frame or whatever, Eva loves doing this shit to people: + Show Spoiler + ![]() And from Kaworu's line before meeting Shinji in the second movie, where he says "I wonder what you'll be like this time." There's also the aquarium scene where they talk about how the ocean was always red, and the bloodstain on the moon, which happens in End of Eva. There's also evidence to suggest that based on what happened in the newest movie that Instrumentality can no longer happen, and that the ending will be different this time than it was last time, which is kinda interesting. I didn't really like the most recent movie, but I'm waiting till the last one comes out before I pass real hard judgement. So no, the new movies are entirely new plot and entirely new circumstances and entirely new people with no memory of what happened before (except for maybe Kaworu), they just so happen to be doing the exact same shit in a recurring cycle. At the end of the day it's all just an excuse for Gainax to republish the exact same thing and make more money off of it. Evangelion is the Star Wars of Japan.
