Anything else? Decide how you and your players view one another. Some DMs want to create a setting where their players are building a story and every challenge they create is surmountable. Other DMs view the players as the enemy (and therefore the BBEG as their DM avatar), and every challenge has a very real chance of killing the players. Once you decide if player death will be common or not, it's much easier to decide the challenge level of each encounter. | ||
