EPTwell enders game isnt a magic system but the game is cool enough that its basically like that and i couldn';t think of another good fantasy example
liek i was gonna put magician but even though its a great book the magic is kinda meh in it

If anyone did like Hunger Games books (or at least the first one) the Divergent series is as good if not better while being similar style. | ||

Often when thinking, especially when in a conversation, I look off in the distance, in the right hand area where Is till have vision with both eyes. (I have very deep set eyes and an almost neanderthaler brow, so the space I have vision with both eyes of isn't that large, and is easily defined.) | ||

It's a urban fantasy/mystery series with a main character who is a private eye and wizard. The way he describes magic use is much cooler than most other series I've read. The show is fine, but it's a bastardization of the books, using half of the descriptions from the stories and mucking up characters. It's a bit elitist, I guess, but the books are way, way better. | ||

Mistborn also makes me happy for its unique spellz. Old school recommendation that I don't think anyone has mentioned is A Wizard of Earthsea. I didn't personally like the rest of that series, but the first one is great. Also, plugging Name of the Wind and the rest of the Kingkiller Chronicles here once again for good measure. | ||
