Opened crap in my two packs. Ended up with like 18 in store credit and got some Treasure Cruises and some EDH stuff (Dig through Time, Cryptic ect). Not bad for a 35 dollar deck, I borrowed some rabblemasters so that's probably what I need to get next. | ||

These are DS remakes of the FE1 and FE3. They're very faithful to the original games, albeit with minor tweaks like New Mystery having an Avatar/MU that you can create (but not as OP as the Awakening MU lol) and better UI, reclassing etc. to bring the old games up to the same level as the more recent ones. New Mystery also has one of the best boss themes in Fire Emblem too. The games themselves aren't too amazing and if you're playing on harder difficulties you'll find yourself being rushed through missions and forcing yourself into very narrow strategies because of the speed factor. Remember that because this is a faithful remake of an old game there are characters that you will basically never use because you can't afford to use them. So if you're used to Fire Emblem Awakening or Sacred Stones where you can basically choose to use your favourite characters and still be fine, you might be let down. (This can be averted with a lot of save scumming and RNG abuse but... do you want to do that?) New Mystery has one of my favourite FE characters but Shadow Dragon probably has the better story. This is strictly a personal bias. | ||

This is strictly a personal bias. I tried really hard to make Katarina work for my team, but her stats are just so mediocre that it makes me sad. At least she has passable defense unlike my Linde. By the way, going from Awakening/Sacred Stones to Shadow Dragons / New Mystery is a HUGE BACKWARD. I honestly don't know if I can recommend those games to anyone unless you are a die-hard fan who might derive some pleasure playing those two games. Like Moonbear said, those are FAITHFUL remake of FE1 and FE3 - therefore, it comes with the mechanics of the old system. It's honestly really BORING to play because it doesn't have much except choosing units with good growth and kill everything the old fashioned way. If that's not enough to convince you, spoiler alert: Marth is a terrible unit and you will hate him with all your heart. If you want a good FE game, either go play FE7, or aim for FE9. | ||
