I just won't be able to get my skill back up for a grind to make any sense right now. Not enough time, not enough cares. In other news, trick or treating with the guy was a huge success. He loved it far more than I expected despite the rain and the cold. Maybe a pic later if anyone cares. WHAT WAS HE?!

You said, Moonbear, that Megaman BN 6 was the top game of the series? MB hasn't played Battle Network. I said 6 was the best in terms of game mechanics, but the best game overall in the series is 3. 2 is probably the best if you haven't played any of the others, though (3 has more content and better pacing but 2 is the most straightforward game for a beginner).

1's gameplay is too clunky to be really enjoyable once you've played any of the others in the series (the UI is really annoying and there's this weird input delay to your attacks that doesn't exist in any of the other games). Also, in BN2 the absolute best possible folder in the game more or less can be made at about the halfway point through the game, and it basically trivializes the rest of the game (as in, it 1-shots every boss reliably in the first 5 seconds of the battle except for the last post-game boss). Shouldn't matter for a beginner, though.

Shouldn't matter for a beginner, though. Which was the one where they turned it into some weird fire emblem-y type game? Cause that one was the worst. 1s gameplay is perfectly fine,an d I say that having replayed them multiple times. Yes its slightly less refined but it was the first one in the series, one that should be played for multiple reasons aside from the fact that it was simply fun and groundbreaking in its style. ONce again I'll refer to the music which was amongst the best in the entire series, and as well if you skip 1 you leave a lot of the character introductions and story elements behind. I mean obviously since it's simply a mega man game that isn't super important but I argue it adds to the charm and the fun when you continue to see recurring characters across games in different roles. As far as 2 goes, not everyone min/maxes and looks shit up on their very first play through. Some people simply play the game with what they've got and enjoy things and then go back and try to optimize or whatever (at least I do). The new mechanics introduced in 2 and 3 are staples for the entire series and they are by far the best games overall, but the series taken as a whole is fantastic and I absolutely recommend playing through each and every one (even the shitty one I mentioned above) simply for completeness/story. The only mmbn game I would never recommend is network transmission. That fucking game was an unholy abortion.
