I have no idea how it actually works or who is actually investigating it, but we get audited a lot cuz of the nature of our business. Does your entire company get those 5 days off at the same time? or is it rolling basis per individual? also, those better be paid days off. Nah, it's on an individual basis, and we can choose when we have our own lock out, just have to coordinate with team to make sure we all don't disappear lol. And I'm on salary, so sure, it's paid.

I was silver 1, failed a whole bunch and now I'm silver 2. I just won't be able to get my skill back up for a grind to make any sense right now. Not enough time, not enough cares. In other news, trick or treating with the guy was a huge success. He loved it far more than I expected despite the rain and the cold. Maybe a pic later if anyone cares.

Each person at my company has to do a mandatory 5 consecutive work day lock out every year. It's a fraud detection/protection practice. how does this detect fraud? just to see if anything is out of the ordinary when you're not working? Yup. I have no idea how it actually works or who is actually investigating it, but we get audited a lot cuz of the nature of our business. As someone who has experience in audit and financial services I can shed some light on this matter. Individuals in control functions or management functions at a retail bank are the best place positioned to commit fraud undetected. This is primarily because the responsibilities of their job place them in close proximity and provide them with the tools that can be used to cover up illegal activities. (For example it's really suspicious if a low level bank employee starts altering records, but someone in the Finance department may be required to do that every day as part of their regular job.) Forcing employees to take leave means they are removed from the actual bank themselves. This means their work can therefore be audited independently, and issues can be identified if the person in question is not physically present for a week to make sure records stay "updated" to avoid being picked up on. This is fairly standard practise in many financial institutions. There are a lot of other particular rules like these in financial institutions designed to prevent fraud. For example it is standard practise that in bank branches, people in management are forbidden from having relationships with each other. If one does occur it needs to be reported to HR. One of the people in the relationship will then be transferred to another branch. That's because having two people in positions of control decreases the oversight that the employees are supposed to have over each other. If the bank uses a two-man system (i.e. like how you need two people to turn a key to authorise a nuclear strike, you have two managers to access money deposits or sign off on documents) then you want those two people to be independent from each other and avoid potential conflicts of interest.
