am I the only one who gets embarassed when I get angry? Especially in a videogame Wouldn't want to display any sort of feeling, of course. Silly, how NA of me. Being sad and crying or being horny or excited isn't embarassing, but being angry is imo. Getting angry is silly somewhere between 98% and 100% of the time. That is an absolutely foolish mindset. Getting angry is a completely rational reaction to things. Someone steals from me or intentionally harms me or someone I love - you're damn fucking right I'll get angry. What really matters is how you act based on that feeling.
The thing is getting angry in a bad situation is really bad as you are already in a negative situation but now your emotions are against you too. I don't think there's anything wrong with getting angry then moving past it but staying angry definitely is silly and doesn't help you at all.

Which is kinda covered by my last statement. Getting angry is natural reaction, and thinking otherwise is dumb. Holding onto anger is often detrimental, I agree. However, being able to control and focus anger into a certain point/task/goal is a useful thing that I've personally employed on more than one occasion.

Telling people what are the right/wrong ways to experience their own emotions is pretty silly imo.

I think staying angry really helps while playing LoL, especially when you are butthurt a whole game after someone fed and constantly ping on him.
Seriously though I think getting angry at SoloQ is stupid most of the time, but being angry at someone who you chose to play with (duoQ, ranked 5, etc.) because you think they are doing something stupid/acting stupid is fine and normal. You should also not just stay angry and try to address the problem, but getting angry is natural.

Well fuck, cancer's spreading from GD in here. Also how did Req get banned this time?

It's pretty much impossible not to get angry (unless you're a sociopath), but it's very possible to control how you express your anger in such a way that people don't know that you're angry.

That's such an ambivalent statement as to be meaningless or just completely false. There are plenty of non sociopaths that don't "get angry" depending on how you define it.
It's also very easy to not get angry at video games if you just don't care about it, the same way that social injustice (injustice to your own social view) won't make you angry if you've already given up on humanity.

It's also really easy not to get angry at videogames if you really care about it. To me it just seems like people don't really try enough and go all "ohh but getting angry is natural hurr" so then their mentality sucks and then they end up thinking that "politely asking your teammates if they are retarded" is fine and just end up being social rejects instead of actually learning from the experience of playing with other people.

Obviously each person's threshold for anger is different, but almost everyone experiences it once the threshold is met.

Roffles gave up on life yet would get angry. Riddle me this.

There's nothing mysterious about that.
Seriously though, if you get angry when playing videogames you are undermining your ability to play properly just because you are unable and/or unwilling to control your emotions.

I've raged at Super Meat Boy and don't feel like I'm a terrible human being because of it. It's not like I'm still upset about it to this day, just a short burst of frustration *shrug*
