Shit son don't go throwing out stuff for the sake of it. I should know the answer myself anyway but us Engineers sometimes forget the micro level ;<
i recall the micro level about electric circuits! but my biology knowledge is like high-school level. turbulent seems like a good word to describe what i ment tho.
Generally talk about turbulent and laminar flow on a macro level. Think micro level is more mass transfer which I don't really remember having those adjectives. Now i'm going to go dig through my textbooks the whole night trying to find the answer. Thanks man.
yeah i think the only time i technically used turbulent was in fluid dynamics on a macro level. I'm pretty sure most the heat and mass transfer stuff i did was on the macro level too, i feel like chemically turbulent isn't a used adjective, more heat is more motion so i guess i could have just said warm but i was trying to sound smart
Haha shit brings back nightmares. I get confused sometimes since the course was called Mass transfer but it dealt specifically with diffusions using ficks law and eventually transient stuff so when I said MT meant that. Makes you wonder why you write exams for this shit when can just look it up when working lol.
Sounding smart is never a bad thing, you just confused me so hard lol
yeah my class was called heat and mass transfer but we focused almost exclusively on heat building off the thermodynamics class we had to take before it, designing heat syncs and stuff like that (*shiver* what a nightmare exam) we barely touched on mass transfer. but now i just design software, you have to use mass transfer while working? cool, what do you do?
My friend does I'm still studying unfortunately. He works at a consulting company in Zim, think his last project was dealing with a design for some milling equipment which had some issue of post separation of the fines/heavies. Not exactly MT lol. Ah our heat stuff was done separately where we did heat exchanger design and transfer. At least for that exam we could bring in 3 A4 sheets of paper with formula, algorithms and explanations so didn't have to memorize how to design.
good luck with your final project and stuff, its a blast. Engineers rule the world!
Thanks . Don't know if final project and "its a blast" go together. More like a nightmare developed to drain your soul while keeping your alive just long enough to feel true despair.
yeah it's definitely a test of endurance, but if you get a good team and a good project and a good mentor it can be awesome. i was really lucky to find a project for a real company that one of my partners interned at. so they paid for everything and we didnt have to go through the school for supplies giving us a lot more leeway. everyone on my team was smart and specialized. and we still spent every night in the lab for months haha.
That sounds amazing lol. I just remember walking into the labs at lunchtime to catch up with mates that were year above me and they all looked like zombies, they must have pulled about 4 all nighters in a row towards the end lol. Friend even had to write a letter and get it signed by his teammates to say how terrible their team leader was just so the rest of the group didn't fail due to her incompetence. Definitely feels like an experience that can be amazing if you get good people but truly terrible if you don't. Either way it's the last obstacle before getting degree so I'm looking forward to doing it eventually. Just hope I don't cock up
never too early to start if you havn't already haha (not sure how close you are) but at our school it was recommended you get working on it during the summer because there was a proposal due on week two. be selfish when choosing your group mates and choose an easy (but interesting) project. in my year the team with the highest marks built a voice activated automatic drink mixing machine which is way easier and more fun than anything anyone else did.

Oh yea they starting it now(well proposal is due in a month I think and we on holidays now) but I had to redo some maths so I'll only be doing it next year unfortunately. Man that project sounds amazing. The chem eng projects are all kind of meh tbh, nothing as cool as the other schools here.
@Soniv: I haven't forgotten about the PM you sent me. I just haven't gotten around to it yet!
@Wave: Hey man don't feel too bad. We're here for you if you need us, and like ComaDose said, just keep your head up and keep walking forward!
@Requizen: Hey man. You're a good great guy. I'm going to Vancouver for a few days so don't post Warhammer 40K pictures in my absence. Well, you can, but I'm probably not going to end up seeing them. I just don't want you to hurt yourself again.
@ComaDose: Hey man. I feel like we don't talk much. How's it going? You have any exciting plans?
Just needed to rant a little, already feel a little better. Still just pissed in general though. In other news, that game 1001 Spikes everyone seems to be playing...I have no desire to play it but GODDAMN if that isn't some of the finest chiptune I've ever heard.

i had to take an extra year to redo some maths too (second applied differentials course) but i think half the people in my class took as long as me so it was okay enjoy being able to spread out the crazy schedule they try and impose on engineers and reap the better grades you can get with more time.
@ComaDose: Hey man. I feel like we don't talk much. How's it going? You have any exciting plans?
going pretty good today, ya know, i got a shout out from the nicest guy in this thread so its looking on the up. tomorrow im going to a barn burning party! no idea what this entails other than performing artists, a barn on fire, and a field full of drunk people. should be a good time.
Sounds oddly like maths I have to redo. Think it's called Calculus in higher planes aka Vector Calculus. None of my friends that graduated ever used this shit again .

i sure didn't! but instead of taking computer engineering i took systems and computer engineering. It just meant more difficult courses i'll never use and a lot of explaining it to people. but i feel like a more educated person i guess!

It's all about the perception man. When I tell people what I study they always ask me shit like "oh so you work with chemicals" or something to do with chemistry. It's so annoying to correct people constantly We only do this shit so people can think how smart we are and bow down to our greatness.
