But it's not very noob friendly to look at. man, i love playing shadow shaman, but watching this dude get stomped in game makes me sad.

It's just gold lead isn't the sole determining factor on who is in the lead as well as it is in LoL.

In League, you basically look at towers and gold and say 'this team is winning' with very few exceptions.

![]() But that's the thing: because you need to process a lot more stuff to get an idea, not having it available made things even more obscure to get. (Also I guess part of why DotA fans find LoL to passive is that they think it's too hard to kill someone in LoL, but dying is actually much more punishing in pro LoL I feel, especially early. It's harder to roam/there's already a dedicated jungler so there isn't that source of exp, a level difference can mean you die over and over and get no farm, and there are less champions which are actually useful on little/no farm while they try to catch up. Someone who starts 0-2 in LoL is pretty much dead for the next 15 minutes while it doesn't seem to be the case that often in DotA, so even if it's harder to kill people, they also play much safer in general because of this.)

Think they pressured themselves into ending the game faster than they needed to and in effect accelerated the Morph's recovery. Skipping midas and going that early mek was so huge by Xiao8. iG did have pressure on them to end the game early as there's no way they could handle NB lineup later in the game. Yip LoL punishes people extremely hard for dying or being out of position. I think it's largely due to the fact that everything scales thus there's no real big game changing items you can get or level to reach. More gold = better everything = winning. So it's more punishing for mistakes.

Yes there was pressure, but they forced awful engages by putting too much pressure on themselves. They went double midas(which was probably not the right choice), then didn't even let them pay dividends before trying to throw their team onto NB towers and force engages deep in the NB jungle with key cooldowns missing. I think YYF and Luo really dropped the ball(also YYF fucked up at least 2 early kills that would've been huge).
