Only thing I don't get at all.
The reason for it is that for news and streams we want to go back to dedicated sites as we didn't feel multi-gaming in those areas was the way to go forward.
To clarify how it works if you had your sidebar settings customized (any customization at all) and you saw LoL tournaments in that list then you will still be seeing them right now. The thing that is changed is the default showing that is either for people who never touched the sidebar settings or for new visitors. If it is not showing up for you then you can add it again in the sidebar customization.
If you see LoL streamers that are streaming but not showing up on TL the best is probably to shoot Chexx a message and he can decide whether or not we want them in our featured list.

It's actually (and maybe ironically?) a bit peculiar how the LoL section takes more space and appears above the Smash section in other games, considering the latter has been officially picked up. I guess displaying all 3 parts does that to visual clues. We don't really approach TL and TLPro like that. Originally we weren't even planning on having a Smash forum as we never expected such a big amount of Smash fans on TL. Yet we still had no doubt that we wanted a Smash team with Ken and KDJ. Only after the announcement which had such an overwhelmingly positive reception we figured a forum would make sense. Similarly LoL forums exist without us having a LoL team, and whether or not we want a LoL team isn't tied to its status on TL.

Can you list which tournament you should be seeing and we'll check it against our database to see if it's bugging out.

Same here, which is why I said "I assume the lack of events is purposeful" (the EU LCS Superweek event starts in a few hours (5 PM CET), it could be that noone took the time to add it but since even with LoL streams listed I don't see the LoL category in the stream bar anymore I assumed that events and streams were removed altogether).
Edit: oh, 0K about Smash. I had thought that since there already was a decently sized Smash thread in Other Games and even LoL had its own forum, the Melee one was par for the course. I don't check that section too often so I didn't notice it wasn't there at first and only came later.

EU LCS isnt added yet. JBright probably forgot it but if you dont see Events on the calender. Please add them yourself! I will approve them

I'm ok with it but I still think LoL is a bit of a black sheep in the TL community.

I will approve them I submitted them (at least all 3 for EU) and today's has already been approved (and apparently JBright was on it too, welp, duplicate), but it doesn't appear in my calendar on the right, despite having checked LoL both for streams and events in my advanced settings. So I guess it was a bit of both, us forgetting and a bug.

Do you have plans for a idk how to say, custom sidebar? Where i can move everything around as i please? I've got most things customized to my liking with the custom one but a little more freedom might be fun
Also does this mean popular LoL streamers wont show up above the show more streams option?

As an example, say TI4 is on, if you add Dota to your sidebar it gives you a link to the LiquidDota-website-stream. Of course this will be disabled for new users but I think it's a cool feature to attract some more casual Dota viewers from the Starcraft site.

Hey Nazgul,
thanks for taking the time to answer some of the stuff on here. I was wondering if you could share some figures related to the size of the LoL community on TL compared to some of the communities that have received their own site. Since LoL is most likely one of the most popular eSports in terms of viewership I find it strange that we have liquidHearth but not liquidLeague for example. Is the LoL community here so small compared to the other communities or are there other things that have impacted the decision making in this regard?

Yeah, it shows for me too. JBright making me look like a scrub with his event submitting skills. :<

The community is only one part of the variables involved with starting a standalone site. News coverage, Staff, Riot esports coverage, existing presence of large community sites, not having a Liquipedia, timing (better to come in early like we were able to do with Hearthstone), and other factors all play an important role as well. We do recognize there is a tight community here but we don't think it translates to standalone site opportunities the way this was the case for other games.

You seem to have listed a lot of factors. Could you maybe elaborate a little on what would need to happen to take League into consideration for a standalone site? News/Tournament coverage seems to be up to date most of the time in the subforum, but some things that you listed will always be out of our control (Riot esports, competition from existing sites, no Liquipedia). Furthermore I was wondering if there are any plans to help grow the League community on TL and counteract the reduced exposure that the LoL subforums will be seeing from now on.

I actually really like the new format. When I'm looking for BW tournaments I don't want to see all the other tournaments and stuff. When I'm looking for LoL content I want it all together. so impress

More seriously, having a dedicated forum is already pretty nice. Remember when we only had a thread ? :p

I don't mind it all that much. Thanks for being mindful of our community here
