It's a remake of the original. It does a pretty good job at being a remake of the original although it still retain character selection and pacing issues. If you're going to criticise something, Mystery of the Emblem: Heroes of Light and Shadow is probably the worst one I've played since it's fairly contrived and I'd rather be messing around in Advance Wars.

I have played all of the FE NA releases, multiple times. I should try to S-rank Hector Hard mode one of these days, or just speedrun. I'm actually using characters I didn't use a lot last time I played Awakening this time, just because I wanted more variety, also different support convos. Still doing Nowi x Gregor though, Gregor is good man, is very strong, yet simple. Also, their kid hates them both because of how they act, it's hilarious.

I always liked the Dawn Brigade arc.
It was actually challenging unlike the herpaderp Act 3 arc (even worse when you load up PoR bonuses).

Nowi and Ricken pairings just creep me out.
I know Nowi is technically thousands of years old but I still get a bad taste in my mouth when I pair her up with anyone. Ricken I feel just isn't deserving of any of the lovely ladies. That, and he's super young as well. So I figured the best solution was to pair Ricken with Nowi. I mean, they look like children so it should be okay. (Even though that pairing may have the largest age gap in the game)
Gregor is one of my favourite characters in the game because his dialogue is golden.
Also from what limited Fire Emblem games I've played, I felt that Shadow Dragon was the weakest one of the handheld instalments (Though I haven't played New Mystery), though I did like it more than Path of Radiance. (Haven't played Radiant Dawn either)

My first "useful" legendary after a long drought starting with the series of : Prophet Valen, Harrison Jones, and Nozdormu.

Harrison Jones pretty good, just not good in this "everyone plays hunter or zoo hyperaggression" meta. Vs control it's really strong since it gets rid of gorehowl, assassins blade, stormforged axe in some cases, and jaraxus's weapon, and due to that almost always 2 for 1's at least. In other matchups it's still at least a 5/4.
Prophet Velen good in certain priest decks.
Nozdormu garbage though gg.

The best use I've ever seen for Noz is to set yourself up with lengthy animations (i.e snake trap + vulture), watch them trigger and piss their turn away.
