Aside from general mindset, you can youtube things like guides to rocket/sticky jumping, I'm sure there are videos that show tons of awesome scout tricks with double jump.
When I really wanted to improve I started playing jump maps and loading games alone and practicing my runouts or just roaming the map hitting set jumps or adlib jumps at common DM spots(DM meaning deathmatch, in comp tf2 it means times when there's a legit 6v6 going down and your 'strategy' is just to win the fight). Playing on DM servers(do they still exist?) is a great way to just practice fighting which will improve your aim.
Obviously just playing will help there too as long as you force yourself to think about improving. For example, sure I could go snipe on a pub right now and do fine, it'd be easy to get some decent looking results picking retard medics and engys that literally stand still, or slow moving heavies, soldiers that strafe 1 direction while emptying out their clip, but if I wanted to return to my form as a TF2 player then I shouldn't shy away from trying to snipe the scout or that charging pyro instead of safely swapping to SMG. SMG might even be the 'smart' play to be honest, but it doesn't really make me better right now.
Could I just sit here with this medic lobbing out spam pipes and stickies? Sure, but I could roam a bit and force myself to hit accurate pipes, or place intelligent zone control stickies. Am I just lobbing spam at that payload cart because it makes me hear all sorts of cool hitsounds? Why am I not aiming them actively to get kills instead?
Could go on for along time with this post but the idea is same for like every class. There is a whole lot of 'dumb' shit you can do in your average TF2 pub and actually achieve decent results with, but if you want to get good you might have to suck at first and do that shit that gets you good, instead of trying to play cautious and safe and do whatever gets you some points now.

OK so I know this isn't the dating advice thread but...
Is taking her to Alamo Draft House/Studio Movie Grill a good idea for date 1? I feel like I'm making serious misplay if I do this, but she wants to go see a movie.
Plus alamo draft house has a Princess Bride Quote along on our Date Night so it might be cool.

ADH is such a non-standard movie going experience that your standard criticism of movies as a date are thrown out. I say it's fine.

Studio Movie Grill is great. Decent food, comfy seats, etc. However, since you're not getting dinner away you're missing out on a lot of conversation time. If you're worried about awkward silences I guess that's fine, but you're just getting a lot less talking out of the first date, which is generally what first dates are for.
Do you have something planned before/after? If so it should be fine. Maybe a nice walk that'll build up your appetite, then you go relax and eat at the movies.
It also reflects kinda nice because going to a regular movie and getting popcorn and a coke isn't exactly high rollin food.

Is dinner and a movie looked down upon these days? Or is it that just a movie is awkward? I guess it doesn't leave a lot of room for conversation.

Just a movie is awkward because it's like "oh let's sit in a room together and not talk". As part of a date it's fine, but until you're comfortable together it's not like you're actually getting to know each other.

She suggested the movie, I only supplied the rest of the idea. The part about not going to dinner after is relevant too, I hadn't really thought about it much. I've known her for about 5 years after highschool but we randomly saw each other again at a party last weekend so I got her number and asked her to go to dinner when she suggest a movie.
I just kinda combo'd the two together. I may just make a movie and then dinner after, it was just a neat idea that popped in my head when I saw the Quote Along for Princess Bride.

First, what's a Quote Along? It sounds fantastic. Also now I want to watch Princess Bride.
Second, if you want to do that, there's plenty of stuff to do after the date. Dessert at an ice cream or smoothie place, go to a local bar you like and chat, go hang out at a bookstore, etc.

Exactly like it sounds, ADH is showing Princess Bride and instead of the standard Hush and Watch the movie stuff, they ENCOURAGE THE CRAP OUT OF YOU to quote the movie with the movie. Kinda like Rocky Horror or what have you.

Huh seems I picked up several items when I logged in o.O neat lil mask thing, a frying pan, a cap, and a wc3 shaman esc wolf helm thingy. This pleases me. Tf2 always has the oddest items.
Steam id is Parnage

It's got lil dancing subtitles at the bottom, and people just fuck around in the theater, and if you don't yell "INCONCEIVABLE" at the right time I think you get mugged. It's great fun.

I guess it doesn't leave a lot of room for conversation. it's a very passive date, cuz there's no interaction. all it is, is sharing similar experience without interaction. While there are plenty of other things you could do which involve actual interaction while sharing experience.

Last time I went they gave out these big-ass inflatable pink swords so people could have swordfights at the appropriate times.

ADH does a ton of other movie events that are equally awesome, like Master Pancake Theater which is inspired by MST3000(but obviously live). I wish I lived close to one and didn't only get to go when I travel to Texas(I know there are some in other states now but I don't go to them).
