Pshhhh. There are plenty of reasons to get into kpop, Klogg's is just more honest than most. To be honest it's just something to geek on about, no other genre has as much info on the artists/singers/performers as kpop, so it's just cool to get immersed in it.

Really didn't like nightmare, and not the new album either. Idk, I liked their really heavy stuff in Waking the Fallen and then City of Evil got a little less heavy but the solos by Synngates were so sickkkkk so I still liked it. Now it's just too pop-y for me :X
and nice sounds wave, though I've gotten tired of Netsky because all his shit sounds the same.

All of them, lol.
Most of their not as popular songs are just as good if not better than their popular songs.
Yeah, that's how I feel about Modest Mouse. Their famous songs aren't /bad/ but their less known stuff is mindbogglingly awesome.
Guess I'll contribute with some liquid DnB :D I have a love hate relationship with this genre, there's SOOOOOO many bad liquid DnB songs since they're not exactly hard to make and very popular amongst the CoD montage kids (and I guess now Leauge montage kids partially due to me) , but the really good ones are really nice.

Hail to the King is harder than Nightmare/Self Titled, but yeah still not as hard as Waking the Fallen or Sounding the Seventh Trumpet.
9/10 might be too generous. There's a couple songs I rather don't like on it, but there's a couple really good tracks too. They're just bloody amazing live so I can't wait to check it out.

I'd dig the shit out of an A7X album where SynGates and Zacky Vengance just play spanish/flaminco style guitar duos like at the end of Sidewinder.

Agreed re: Modest Mouse. About 'shit sounding the same'---that's one of the most common criticisms I hear regarding artists, and I used to take offense to it when someone insulted a band/artist I liked using it. I think a while later I realized that's pretty much the natural order of things when it comes to specific artists---there are very VERY few out there who can make music that sounds legitimately different from album to album or song to song, and even when they do, a lot of it ends up just being bad or experimentally weird compared to their 'usual' stuff. (A good classic example of a band that successfully changed their sound frequently and had major success was the Beatles---a recent example is Daft Punk, though many argue that their latest album isn't particularly good. I think it's fantastic.)
I think it's ok to become sick of a band/artist when all of their stuff starts running together for you. All that means is it's time to move on.
I don't watch/listen to kpop because its frustrating because 99.97% of the Korean girls at my school are nowhere near that cute. Too much makeup and shit too.
Also Shake it's funny you mention your League montages because I fucking LOVE that K-391 song you used in one of them. Listen to that shit all the time.

but that's exactly why it's awesome. it's like a super hero movie, obviously super hero's don't exist, but that doesn't make the movies any less fucking awesome.

I think people who just use the comment "sounding the same", often are ignorant to some bands. There is a lot of small changes from album to album, song to song, and you can see how it reflects the change in the band/artist.

I just find it weird that people obsess over a genre of music only because the girls are "cute." It's no better than teenage girls obessing over Jbieber and 1D over the same exact thing, but at least they're just teen girls and the teen pop bands don't wear nearly as much makeup.
edit: Not that I'm saying that there aren't true fans of kpop, but I've met a few that only listen because of the girls looking good. Just go watch porn lol.

I feel like a huge minority on TL because of this. I just. Don't. Get. It.
And the thing is, it's not even like 'AMG I want to fuck these girls they're so hot.' It's this weird way of worshiping them from afar and believing that their personalities are how they're portrayed at their concerts/through the media or whatever.

I'm not really talking about the subtle differences though, because only fans of a band will often pick up on the subtleties between songs/albums as a band/artist changes throughout the years. For example a band I used to really love, Green Day. I can tell you exactly what changed about every album of theirs until American Idiot (when I stopped listening to them) but many people would tell you that they were very generic pop-punk all along even though the difference between Kerplunk and 21st Century Breakdown is like night and day. (Or day and night, as it were.)

On the one hand I sort of understand, but I think it's the fact that these are real people (with manufactured personas) that kind of gives me the creeps about it. I get geeking out over the other stuff.

Well that's the difference though. A fan would bother listening or learning those details, and thus the band sounds "fresh" with every new album. A 2ndry spectator would just say "oh it all sounds the same", and therefore can't appreciate the new albums.
I'm okay with a certain segment of kpop which sounds good, but listening to pop in a language I don't understand just never made sense to me. I'm a big sucker for da feelz though.
And I will admit to watching Bubble Pop an unnecessary amount of times before though.
To me there's a pretty clear distinction between superheroes and kpop. Superheroes? Never going to happen at all, and we know that so we can really indulge. Kpop? Close enough to reality, but still all made up. The way it skirts that line between fiction and reality is kind of unhealthy IMO, give an entire generation of kpop fans unrealistic ideas about girls and stuff. Then again, same thing can be said about my obsession with da feelz and all the sappy music/movies/books I read-- I've got a pretty raging sense of chivalry and all that.
Anyone listen to any nightcore? A lot of people say it sounds like chipmunks (it kind of does), but its the closest I think I'll ever get to drugs.
