Shame, because it could be pretty cool, but after trying to organize two groups and both dying within 1-2 sessions, I just kinda stopped trying for it.
Maybe once I move to vienna legit full-time I'll look for a local group to play in German, even though Fantasy in general makes my ears bleed when translated to german and I suspect it wouldn't be different for dnd.
tldr i wanna be a nerd but the internet wont let me.
Well, for internet D&D I just imagine you would have to have a group of people who are willing to commit to getting online and doing it. It's super easy to get lazy on the internet, so it would probably take a bit more dedication than with people you see on a regular basis.

I think we can play random ability draft in custom for DOTA 2, we just can't 5 stack and que up for it. If that's the case I have my level 50 acct, I'll just log on that and let us do it that way. It is by far the most fun I've ever had playing dota ever.

Should be hilarious for those of us who know of maybe 5 abilities in DOTA XD

tldr i wanna be a nerd but the internet wont let me. Really depends. I mean, the obvious limiting factor is meeting time. Online seems easier, but then you get situations like TL, where you have people from far varying time zones who want to play together, and suddenly it starts to get difficult for everyone to stick together. Then you have to start taking into account schedules (work, family, obligations), which is something that in-person groups deal with themselves.
I know plenty of groups that have done full online campaigns, and am in one that's been going for around half of a year now myself (though it's slow going and some of the people I play with are twats).

yeaaaah....Idk how much I'll enjoy it. Kinda for the same reason I didn't want Smite on the playlist
it's one thing when you have to play a character and use their moves - it's a whole other thing when you're just blindly drafting moves that you have no idea what they do (meanwhile the people who do know what's powerful get all the good shit)

Solution - drop your online group and DM for me

I'm going to be figuring it out as I go regardless. If it turns out to be lame we just switch games.

You're still a buncha drunks. it's 2014 req - no judgement (save for rapists and Nazis) Idk it's pretty hard to not judge Req when he flaunts that he's never read Tower of God. I gots better things to do, Jeff. Theres gotta be a line you're crossing somewhere Actually the "Jeff" thing actually feels fitting now that I've seen it a few more times. But you did not feel like a "Jeff" initially o/ I was very nearly named Hank orz
So glad I escaped that fate.

I was almost Daniel or Dave. Then my mother kicked everyone out of the Hospital Room and named me herself. My dad's side of the family was none too happy about this.
