Sounds like a side-effect of lack of freedom.

Pulp-less stuff like like literal sugar water and is often heat treated or something which ruins the flavour. But then you also drink high fructose soda. So I guess there's the lack of taste.

No I mean the big ones. Start at where the the fruit was connected to the plant since there's less chance of breaking into the flesh. Then you slowly work your way around and either make a flower shape or a spiral shape the way you would when you want to peel something like a radish or potato but have the peel come off in one piece.
