Wow Bunny I'm disappointed in that veto

TY not looking like he's about to fall asleep today. This is exciting!

Nice attempt by Bunny but in the end there just weren't enough Thors in those medivacs.

Shouldn't have salvaged the bunker

Why this was a BO win for Bunny and the other map was a strategical mastermind innovative play by TY? LMAO
|
Nice game reaper vs reaper. It is rare to see this gameplay between the professionals.
|
Maybe when you're the better player you shouldn't do one base nonsense every game
|
|
|
Now, let Hurricane win and Bunny advances to the first place. Hahaha

This the ByuN effect, but with Maru. Maru would have proxied twice and won 2:0. TY did that, lost. ByuN massed reapers every time and won. Others lost

No wonder DRG is not confident in his zvp, it's pretty garbo.

Yeah I thought about betting on something else so you can be in a win or win situation, but that would make DRG looking super lost in ZvP less dramatic than right now

wow, I did not have Bunny making it out of this group, never mind in first place - do I just not watch enough starcraft anymore or was it just a bad day at the office for all involved

Love to see Bunny continuing to do well. Hoping he can go from pretty good to a title contender.
I love DRG but this might be TY's last season, hoping he can go deep.

First is a bit of a surprise, but Bunny has been improving a lot recently. He's not a title contender yet, but he's taken series off title contenders fairly often.

It's been a while since TY has been anywhere close to as bad as today

TY should have attacked at some point.

Ouch,TY out. :/
Didn't manage to make it on time to watch the games, any particularly good ones to check out?

TY downplayed his group bracket a lot because he thought he could get easily advance just like the way he got through before.
Maybe he can survive if he made group A as a group of death instead in his last attempt in GSL championship.

I wouldn't say the games have been "good", but I thought they were pretty entertaining and worth a watch (except maybe DRG vs Hurricane but that's PvZ so meh).

Yeah, it is just bad PvZ, losing to Toss who doesnt event do double Stargate into Skytoss. DRG might just be better off sitting home building defense and macro up for Lurker tech.

Not just ZvP, guess he was also pretty weak in ZvZ as well.
Just quoting from Artosis, maybe his solid experiences against Terran players in the previous GSL tournaments gave him indefinite answer to fight against Terran players in many ways even though meta changed every year.

The ro32 still existed back then in which Maru was almost eliminated several times and which caused the end of his streak. The player pool was also a lot healthier in 2018. The situation is not comparable. I supported the first seeds extra group swap back then and since it's inception because GSL was so hard that it barely mattered. Champs getting eliminated in the ro32 was commonplace. Now that the player pool is what it is and the top 4 gets to skip the first round it definitely feels like too much. Though as today proved GSL is still extremely hard and anything can happen.
|
can't say I expected that (had my liquibet on Bunny / TY) ! Having such a discrepancy between his two non mirrors must not be common, although I think DRG could have stolen the series with his muta build in g3. In any case, feels great to have GSL again

DRG looked truly clueless in ZvP, especially glaring after you saw him do so well in ZvT. I wonder if Bunny could have beaten him had he won versus Hurricane? Sad ending for TY as well, thankfully we will see him in the teamleague etc

"Free passes" is plural while that's the first season of Code S without a ro32; TY could benefit of three "easy" groups(effectively easier than the others) twice before this one, topping them once.
Maru could benefit of the same privilege since he got eliminated in the ro32 of S2 2019; while GSL was indeed more stacked in 2018/2019, he still forged easier group for himself for three consecutive seasons.

When TY won GSL he got seeded straight to the ro16. He also got seeded straight to the ro16 in the next season as well. That's what I was referring to. Maru started in the ro32 for every GSL he won during his streak.

Aren't we speaking of how relatively easy Ro16 groups can be for the first seed? I wouldn't personally call any of them "a free pass for ro8" but it seems me weird than someone can accuse TY of having had it too easy in 2020 while it was basically the same for Maru in 2018/2019.

This Bunny run feels real-ish
At least the eye-test makes me think his mechanics, reaction speed, multi-tasking are better than before. Not to say that it's championship tier or anything, but this playoff run feels pretty deserved.
As for Hurricane, shades of Zest (for better or for worse )

Bunny has been playing very well since DH Last Chance, where he beat both Reynor and Inno to get out of the group.
