So Serral had 7 more drones but you have to look at the infrastructure. Serral only had a roach warren, no bane nest, still on hatch tec. He saw Time had combat shields, stim, medivacs and a 3rd CC. So its not like he can drone up massively as he was about about to be dropped by 16 stim+combat marines so he needed to make roaches to defend. And then Time was even busy getting his 1-1 up, dunno if Serral knew about that. So all in all, the game really was over. I stand by it, I have seen players come back from worse positions Agreed. Also one should never assume that his opponent will play perfectly from there. Mistakes happen all the time.

But other than that, blegh 2-1-1 is also practically a build order win against fast mutas

great anti timing by TIME, 10s before 3-3

Naturally 3/3 for TIME perfectly lines up with the end of the fight

Yes with speed banes certainly, but with just roaches without speed, while being 2 upgrades down against stimmed bio? There really isnt a way to win that as Serral, simple as that

Have we got a reason why we don't have players cameras and views on rooms for this series? (I sometimes turn the sound off so they may have said it). It seems Serral is pissed but TIME won't fall easily.

Trap seemed to care judging from his reactions, by the way. King of Battles was played online one month ago, it had a smaller prize pool and was not worth ESL points either; koreans won big. Did they care? Foreigners didn't care? Maru was amazing at KoB, indeed the general level of that tournament was pretty high. Trap made some good runs at previous DHacks and he was clearly upset this time with his loss.
I guess Trap has that motivation of converting his consistent excellence into another big tournament win that others don’t have. Armani is in a similar boat.
The level in general just isn’t as high as one is accustomed to from the Koreans, nothing wrong or inexplicable there. Most of the pool are locks for Katowice, and the qualifying tournament is more prestigious than the main tournament
I do think people are overreacting to this tournament, or at least it’s distorting perceptions of the previous two seasons and KoB where the Koreans by and large did show up in good form and with prepared strategies (Cure taking Serral apart sticking into my memory).

Most likely because Time doesnt have a cam. Same with maxpax or even Nina for a long time when she didnt want to show her face. They then also didnt have a cam for the opponent as otherise we we would just see a single player

It’s only tilting if it affects the rest of his series, to me it’s a potentially misjudged early gg sure but it’s an isolated thing, unless of course it isn’t.
By and large, a few showings of frustration aside I haven’t seen much evidence of Serral’s mentality slipping at all, merely he’s got extremely tough European rivals and they all have to be close to their best to win against each other.
He’s not really throwing games where he’s massively ahead, or losing to players much worse than him, which I think would definitely be signs that his mentality is tilting.

I feel like this would be so much better if you just wait for medivacs

TIME really always puts up a fight vs Serral

TIME is having none of these proxy hatch shenanigans

And then game 5 is just a disappointing game where TIME goes for BC mech and dies to a roach/ravager/corruptor timing

Did they care? Foreigners didn't care? well serral, clem or reynor played good, got far in that tournament. so, i wouldn't compare it. i said: it is ok to lose. this was a disaster, B- level. Hm, I think I didn't make my point clear; when similar tournaments played with similar conditions happen so close to each other and present such different results, the excuses like lag, timezones, lack of interest just die out. Foreigners are competitive with koreans so there might very well be a tournament with 3 koreans in the ro4 and another one with 3(at least) foreigners in the ro4; it should be viewed as normal right now. Yes, foreigners didn't do that bad in KoB and koreans' performance in this tournament thus far has been comparatively worse; however, TSL 5 has been awful for forigners if we exclude the first weekend while DH finals have been very even and hard fought. Foreigners aren't better than koreans yet, of course, but people should realize they are not living in 2014 anymore(and not even in 2017). that's not the point though. The point is that Korean scene is in shambles for sure and I wonder what the players are doing to change that. I only see Solar being pretty vocal about it and this interview where TY and Stats express their opinion in a very submissive way (maybe that's simply because of the culture) + Show Spoiler +EDIT: put the link in spoiler tags, sorry about it
I already liked Stats, TY and Rain and I like them more after watching this; who's the interviewer btw? At this point I fear there is no hope for the growth of korean Sc2, the lack of new blood can't be solved in a couple of years; region lock was needed but KeSpa destroyed itself and that's probably why the scene is ultimately shrinking. There is a margin of growth for individual players(we could see Zoun or Armani become championship contenders) but I don't think we will see Percival making deep runs in Code S and, if ever, I don't know of any other promising up and comer.
On the other hand, Korea still has at least a dozen of top tier players whereas there yet but a handful of foreign equivalents; non korean scene is weaker as a whole but its growth margin is unparalleled, we have 6k and above players born in 2007. We'll see what happens at Katowice(especially if it will be played offline) but I am quite sure region lock could be removed for 2021/2022; I was convinced it could be done last year as well but with Reynor and Clem's transition to world class players I am sure the foreign scene could withstand the impact.

and korean sc2 never looked weaker with like half of the top players from 4 years ago having retired and others being far from their best form for reasons like injuries (Dark) or lack of motivation (sOs).
I can't disagree(sOs hasn't won anything in LoTV, btw) but remember that Serral(here just as the epitome of foreign sc2, don't wanna discuss his greatness or so) emerged against a healthier korean scene and that Clem's and Reynor's skill are those of top tier players who would have had great results even if there were three times as many top korean players.
