Noone is going to take the winner seriously unless Classic can bullshit his way to the win. The game is in the saddest state ever and its showing game by game. In a balanced state, Reynor would not gake a map off Trap. Maru vs Dark would be even, and most importantly, we would have much more diversity here.
Serral is going to make a completely meaningless champ, which is a shame, because I actually think he is good enough to challenge for the win fair and square...
Yeah I don’t get why they spoon feed him the championship when he is good enough to challenge it in a balanced game. They are hurting themselves in the long run with their foreigner strategy to attract viewers. Hopefully they react in a good way after this BlizzCon (and thankfully they had new games to announce so at least that part of the event is a success)

I root for Serral now, and hopefully we have a nice patch for nation wars which resumes soon

Another argument that is easily dismissed if you view Dark's ZvT as far superior to Serral's.
Because Maru's worst match up (mathematically proven several times over) paired him against an up and comer eager to prove himself who devoted all his energy and prep time to defeating him took 3 games off of him.
Yea, easy to see how TIME could have taken a series off of Maru and then dropped off in the rematch, only for Maru to then face the hands down best ZvT in the world in the next match.
And if someone wants to argue that point, just look at Serral's algulac record and who he has actually beaten in streamed offline matches, and then compare it to Dark. Serral never plays vs the top Korean terrans, and when he does, his winrate isn;t that impressive.
Dark is another animal entirely.
It's all a result of the way the scenes are regionlocked. Just pay the slightest bit of attention and it's REALLY easy to figure out.

My biggest pet peeve isnt that Maru lost, thats par for the course with Maru at this point, its the fact that Maru was the only one that reached that stage (with TvT win over TIME) while we had only 1 KR terran go to Ro16 and of the 3 total only he reached Ro8.
The fact that Maru, a player that always bombs out of weekenders and that got 3-0 easily, was actually the terran that did the best, is whats upseting.

I agree that Dark likely has best ZvT in Korea, but can you make a compelling argument for his ZvT being far superior to Serral's? No, if you bring up last super tournament, i can retort with TY pushing Dark to 5 games in Code S shortly before, and Serral beating TY 3-1 himself afterwards.

Exactly, there is simply not enough of a sample to suggest it one way or another.
Balance right now is bad, but not as bad as during infestor broodlord. At least you don't have rando Zergs winning championships, the ones doing well are ones that were plenty accomplished in more balanced metas. The championships won by zerg in the latter half of 2019 aren't as impressive as those won in more balanced environments, but to act as if they're completely meaningless is just silly.
Also if you think balance is deliberately being kept Zerg skewed to enable European champions you're not capable of engaging in serious discussion.
