Not even a proper comparison. Lilbow knew his odds so he knew what he was doing from the beginning. Maru can do way better. Honestly I think Lilbow was way more embarassing. At least we can be assured Maru TRIED to win this. Just can't stop the actual God of BlizzCon though. I don't think there's any shame in that.
Depends on what was your opinion on Lilbow's attitude back then. IIRC it was like: "You guys matched me up against one of tournament favorites in the expansion that is already dead in foreign scene, why should i even try".

So my understanding is Starcraft is growing steadily everywhere but in Korea...? Serral won all WCS this year. He was good before, but broke out this year. Major lives in Korea basically, improved drastically this year. No new promosing Koreans whatsoever, very little opportunities for them. Innovation kinda sucks now, probably plays overwatch or something SC2 is growing a bit outside of Korea, but it's still nothing huge.
It's showing steady progress though since it went F2P, if that trend continues it'll be pretty cool. Although yeah agreed on the comments about Korea. I hope they end region lock eventually. It feels like Koreans are getting suffocated out of existence.

Game 1) Why did Maru suicide a Medivac and three Mines for no damage? He could have just turned around - only way boosting straight for the mineral line would work there is if $O$ move command missclicks his Stalkers at least two times (not the first time Maru makes this particular mistake)
Game 2) Why did Maru not send the Reaper across the map immediately?
Game 3) Starting 2nd Depot when he starts his Cyclone and realizes he’s supply blocked - literally a bronze league mistake
All in all disappointing performance by Maru - worst I’ve seem him play this year
