When did Serral become this dominant? When did MajOr have a huge breakthrough? So any new promising Korean players or is it same old same-old? Where's Innovation? So my understanding is Starcraft is growing steadily everywhere but in Korea...?
Serral won all WCS this year. He was good before, but broke out this year. Major lives in Korea basically, improved drastically this year. No new promosing Koreans whatsoever, very little opportunities for them. Innovation kinda sucks now, probably plays overwatch or something SC2 is growing a bit outside of Korea, but it's still nothing huge.

Not even a proper comparison. Lilbow knew his odds so he knew what he was doing from the beginning. Maru can do way better.
Honestly I think Lilbow was way more embarassing. At least we can be assured Maru TRIED to win this. Just can't stop the actual God of BlizzCon though. I don't think there's any shame in that.

Supply depots are Maru's nemesis.

Being the best player, and winning the tournament that matters, are two different skill sets.

Dunno mate, looked like typical Prime Terran performance in the sense it was just as stubborn. Wow, I had forgotten about this Prime Terran trait. Looks like you can leave Prime, but Prime won't ever leave you That did look suspicious. Someone check the betting odds.

Quoted wrong comment lol
Proxying IS the meta. It has been for a few months. Yes, its garbagge and everyone hates it.

It am torn between wanting Serral to succeed and wanting Dark to put the nail in the coffin of the Maru/Serral narrative.

Such a well planned series, holy cow He didn't play well, this was Has vs a player that Has saw 1k replays of, I rate this a series a -5 out of 5, it delegitimizes the game and Maru's championships, worst series I've seen in a long time. So much salt Why didn't anyone else thought of being Has with 1k replays in his pockets, then ? Is it salty to say that forgetting your second supply depot while you're proxying is a terrible play? The first cyclone came 30seconds later and the adpet managed to freely kill 4 workers, that was game and not because sOs was great but because Maru screwed up. Well, I guess I am salty haha No, but it's salty to pretend that anyone in sOs' shoes would have won as easily. Maru wasn't extremely good here, but sOs was great.

You finnish traitor! (I kind of think you made a joke, but still!) I mean it's not like Serral has improved on the bigger stages after that or the game has changed at all like the aam spam. Until Serral beats Maru in at least a bo5 he can't be better.

As much as I love sOs, this really saddens me to see Maru go out this way. Standard, non-proxy Terran play would have likely been a sure way to get past sOs, but I suppose when Maru hasn't played "Standard" TvP in so long it would have required a complete shift away from all that's given him so much success this year. I suppose that's a lot easier said than done... The brilliance of sOs shines through once again, and sadly Maru falls flat on his face.
I'm kinda with Poopi here in feeling like I might just shut down the stream out of sheer disappointment..
