Looked like zero preparation from Rogue. Neeb has this tiny moves he does in play and Rogue looked surprised by each one, terrible performance. I'm inclined to go back and read all those Rogue 3-0 predictions and have a laugh.

I don't know if the level of play has worsened but it looks like the Koreans are doing a lot worse against the foreigners compared to last year and perhaps even compared to 2016.

I mean, TY is probably going to win, but how can your heart not be for Leenock?!

He beat prime Mvp in a bo5 only to get upset by Jjakji in the next round back in the day. Talk about a tragedy. He can't let the title get away like that

yes, and that is exactly the reason Neeb got into TOP4 GSL. Because 1 player played incredibly bad for some unknown reason. facepalm

I mean, that's literally what happened. But that's competition for you - players can't put on their A game every day.

seems like you're missing the point - pointing out that Rogue played poorly today does not equate implying anything about Neeb

Rogue has now been in 7 GSL Ro8's, and never reached the Ro4. He lost at this stage more often than soO lost GSL finals. Mental block confirmed?

Yeah. And I've watched since 2013 and foreigners have never looked better. Not only vs Korea, but in foreigner vs foreigner matches (which usually were a shitfest when foreigners were really bad.) That's why I don't believe the "level of play has dropped, foreigners are as bad as ever" narrative; it's easy to tell the difference in actual play, composure on stage, and preparation for matches.

I was really surprised that so many people were betting on rogue stomping. they are 7:7 in offline games and Neebs playstyle is great against someone like rogue. yes, rogue did not play well, but its because Neeb really disrupted his playstyle

Didn't he win back to back 100k tournaments? I'm sure he's okay.

yea Korea is getting worse, no team houses, no new players, no tournaments except GSL, no team leagues

and current players will soon have to do military service, I wonder how much longer until GSL shuts down, and what will Tastosis do?

I think Rogue might have been put off tempo from game number 1. It looked like he was trying to play around Neeb's style since the first game. Instead of going for Neeb's weakness, Rogue didn't do any damage early game and tried to go for the midgame.

This is gsl ro8 not a weekend tournament. Rogue's preparation outclasses that of Neeb.

Assuming that Leenock plays. Bummer that Jaedong's KSL series is at the same time as this.

Somehow I cannot stop laughing ... I guess Rogue did not try hard enough?

I said earlier, and I've said this about every Zerg Neeb's faced in GSL. The fact they did not cheese Neeb out is exactly why they lost. Rogue played right into Neeb's strength. Maybe Rogue was overconfident in his abilities against Neeb's midgame/lategame toss

Rogue played kind of "cheesy" this entire series tbh. Just not the cheese that Neeb is weak against.

Nah. Muta isn't really cheesy. Just risky. Game 1 had potential if Rogue didn't decide 2 base zerg for 8 minutes was good.

2 base lair is cheesy (and IMO not actually that bad but he got super BO countered).

Overlord speed is not cheesy but extremely uncommon and he also got a shitty BO matchup.

The last game I would say was a BO win but he not only lost but got crushed, and his followup is EXTREMELY uncommon.

Rogue played extremely weird basically every single game so there's no way you could call this a standard series. Anyway, I think people are being too hard on Rogue and people never discuss the most basic thing in sc2 which is that Rogue got a crap end of the build orders in 2 of the games he lost so ofc he didn't look too good.

Ganzi beat me without stim. Ostojiy beat me with a nydus. Siphonn beat me with probes. Revival beat my sentry-immortal all-in.
