His win against Trap was a clutch comeback as well. He almost lost 0-3 then didn't make any mistakes for the last 2.5 games of the series
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

plus alot more similar looking runs.

Certainly giving me the same vibe tho.

I think Serral has firmly seized the 'greatest peak foreigner' title at this point, and to be honest he has for me for quite a while. His peer dominance is far beyond what Stephano ever achieved and he's been similar against koreans.

Except for the fact Stephano was playing in 2 eras where there was no region locks and koreans were rolling over everything. Not just any koreans, but some of the greatest gamers of all time.

I respect Serral, he's extremely talented, but what he's doing now Stephano was doing when SC2 was the most watched and competitive e-sport in the world.

On the other hand, you can say that the overall skill level today is much higher than it was back then during Stephano's time. SC2 is at a place where everything is pretty much figured out and the balance is better than it's ever been.

With half of the players retired, there not even being enough good players in Korea to make the Ro32 anything but a mostly shit-show and foreginers being locked in their own gated garden, I am not sure you can make such inferences.

The gold base is a good mindgame considering Dark went for 2 base play on this map yesterday.

The difficulty lies in the competition.
In 2018 sc2 GSL is a joke where NoRegret (a guy that would have troubles qualifying for playoff in WCS EU events) can qualify two times in a row for code S, because there aren't enough good koreans playing in the region.

Trust me. When I write my article, this point is going to be included.

Serral is going to kill regionlocking if I have ANYTHING to say about it, mark my words.

That's such a vague and stupid statement. Stephano played in the pre-KeSPA era. The players he played against (Polt, MC, DongRaeGu, MMA, MarineKing) had nowhere near the quality control today's players have, and he played against an enormous amount of mediocre koreans who would get steamrolled into irrelevance today (inori, boxer, lucky, thestc, sound, real, jyp, post-prime nestea, heart, ganzi, alicia, terran rain, daisy, keen, revival, crank).

Yeah I don't know about that.

This is the highest skilled era and GSL had its best ro32 this season, sorry man, Artosis said so

The overall skill level today is much higher, just like every new epic game we get is the greatest game we've ever seen, aka it's debatable if it's higher.

Fact is this is the least stacked era of SC2, so who knows how competitive it really is. Back during WoL and HotS we've had BW legends playing, new SC2 rising stars and some talented foreigners. Today we have about 10 super high level koreans and a couple of high level foreigners. I don't know if I would compare that to having Life, Flash, Jaedong, MVP, Polt, Taeja, MC, Parting, ForGG and on and on, the list goes.

In Stephano's era, half of the players (literally every KeSPA korean) hadn't even started playing yet. When Stephano won IPL 3 (which he did over zero koreans who would even rank in the top 50 all-time) the Code S Ro32 had such glorious names as Noblesse, Clide, Ensnare, asd, Virus, Genius, TOP, HongUn, July, Killer, CoCa. The Korean Happy made Ro4 that season. It was a joke outside of the absolute elite (MMA, Mvp, NesTea, maybe guys like DongRaeGu and Leenock who were coming into their own), but.. oh wait. Stephano played zero offline sets against any of those guys in their prime.
