I get that casters need to hype things up but seriously? GSL was vs peak Shura though, he had no chance it wasn't his fault

Plenty of protoss and zerg pros were saying terran basically couldn't win in TvP. Maru was miles ahead of every other terran and still lost to Classic, Zest, herO, Dear etc all the time. Protoss was pretty clearly damn favoured before the patch. How it is now I'm not sure.

If by pretty clearly damn favored you mean 53.x% in the last patch (not counting the one before) then yeah. I'm not saying it was not toss favored. It was not that beyond healthy balance variance statistically speaking. The problem was not balance per se but the MU tends to be dominated by early game from each race. When a match up is trending that direction, even if balance is perfect a change is warranted. In the absolute top level, majority of the protosses are early game oriented so it might have skewed balance perception.

They take into account every pro game that's played. If I say protoss is favoured it means I'm talking about the top pros. And in the case of TvP we saw that Inno/TY/Maru/Byun/gumiho/aLive/special all take dips in their ratings and start really struggling in the matchup compared to their usual level. At the same time every top protoss (herO, zest, classic, trap, dear etc) took a significant increase in their PvT ratings. It became the favoured matchup for all of them.
