I mean, he's been consistent this year. Dominated WCS (didn't he go like, 17-4?) and outside of the first two games here, dominated IEM WC too. He has an 88% win rate this year, going 25-4 in matches, with 3 of his 4 losses being in g5/g3 situations. He's just been a monster, and I'm kind of sad I didn't have more faith in him when I made my PR.

Idk I’m mostly just saying the “give him one more year” thing is kinda silly because I’ve been hearing “next year” about Serral for forever. Plus I think he’s already elite now.

He got the one more year already. He's by far the best foreigner.

Probably yeah but some foreigners are close no?

Do you see any other foreigners in this top 12?

I forgot that you’re only a top foreigner if you make top 12 in whatever IEM is currently in progress

you can be a top foreigner and wont get close to touching serral

Scarlett is literally sitting in top 8 of GSL

Good for her. She also didn't even qualify for this tournmanet. Eliminated by TRUE and Guru

I didn’t know this IEM was the be all end all lmao

I’m getting a lot of blowback from Serral fans which is puzzling because I have literally only said nice things about him. I made a mere suggestion that some foreigners may be close to him

Honestly, Serral's the best foreigner right now by a pretty significant margin. He shitstomped more or less everyone in WCS; he won the event with, like, 3 losses the whole way. Now he's trashing koreans, too, having won sets vs Trap, Zest, Rogue and Impact. You can't really say 'yeah, but Scarlett is top 8 in korea' because she's one of the few foreigners to really dedicate herself to GSL, so it's not an equal comparison. However, with Scarlett disappointing at both WCS and IEM, and Neeb not quite finding himself, Serral's left as the best foreigner by far right now. They can catch up - but it's going to be hard if Serral keeps this up.

But he played amazing that last game that was awesome

OK. Assuming he continues this progression he is showing, i expect him to become more consistent with good games in important moments like a playoffs against good koreans. Like what NOT happened this series

I mean in this series imo he wasn't as crisp in his mechanics as yesterday, at least there were signs like in defense against oracles, ling harassing wall etc, where he had some mistakes that to me showed nerves.

Maybe he will never be that consistent but i believe he will continue improving and get there

Serral needs to try and qualify for GSL. Train in the foreigner house even. Korea could do wonders for him.

Scarlett literally beat Serral just before her GSL match, they are both very good Serral is more consistent though Scarlett seems very peaky and easily thrown off her game.

Today was the first time that I got this feeling, since I saw the first stream of Stephano and he hotkeyed and rallied his eggs, which blew my mind.

I am actually getting the urge to play sc2 from watching him and I haven't played in a month .
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

I mean can we really knock Scarlett for dedicating herself to the most prestigious league? Surely then we must give her leave to lose elsewhere for not being “dedicated” to those tournaments because she’s focused on Korea

It's probably not worth the trouble for him as he's unlikely to win as much money there as he would outside Korea. It might be worth for 1 season just to play on KR ladder more and to experience team house training though.

Scarlett literally beat Serral just before her GSL match, they are both very good Serral is more consistent though Scarlett seems very peaky and easily thrown off her game.

Scarlett is a very good player, but to me it feels as though she kind of has to prep for her opponent, and in situations where her prep isn't as strong (IEM WC, WCS) she falters super hard. It's tough to say someone's better than Serral when they've lost twice to Namshar, gotten thrashed by Guru, and lost to TRUE, all in their best (by far) matchup. Not to mention that she's also a combined 3-22 in games against Neeb, Kelazhur and uThermal, the three best non-zerg foreigners she's played.

She deserves the credit these days.

She finally won a premier tournament, and she's the first foreigner since Jinro to make it to the Ro8 in GSL after qualifying for it.

She's doing things very few foreigners have ever done. For as good as Serral is playing, his achievements in this tournament are not that uncommon for good foreign players.
