It needs some perspective though: it's by a legendary group that has been doing punk for decades and now it's actually pretty old guys, but still rolling strong - and this particular video I had in mind is kinda ironic self-reflection.

I don't know how is it in your socio-geographic circle, but among my friends, a beard is an extremely rare thing. It's also not just about the beard, but the glasses and the overall look ... we just call people who look like that "hipsters" and I don't think the label is anymore shifting according to what is non-mainstream right now.

I say that, because I am pretty sure that I am not a "hipster" in any sense or meaning of the word. I refuse to belong into any current "subculture", because they are each sillier than another. Well, one of my friends calls me "the last living true punker", which, even though I do not wear anything remotely resembling the attributes of the punk culture at its prime and I do not listen to punk music, is still somehow both suitable and flattering for my personality, so I am willing to allow that.

Yeah, but who decides what is the "definition" of anything (outside mathematics)? Words mean just what people want them to mean, no "higher authority" is ever gonna change that. Then we have to accept that those meaning can be different across the globe - in particular as I live in a non-english-speaking country (although we just use the word "hipster" as it is for a lack of Czech equivalent).

Anyway, now would be the time to include a glorious Czech punk music video about what is the real sign of punk, but alas, the language barrier makes it vain ...
