Also you might even return as fulltime progamer so its unneccesary. i'm thinking he wanted to announce his retirement to make his intentions clear and his fans aren't left wondering about his status. he is very obviously retired, because he said so. while esports and the sc2 scene in particular is relaxed about that stuff, you don't get to simply do this stuff in other areas of life--like when you announce a breakup or a resignation. being able to come back and play for tournaments is gravy, and any pressure he receives is pressure that is self-instilled out of a passion for the game and/or competition otherwise in other areas of life, you do a breakup and keep seeing each other, or you're no longer professionally involved with a company but still freelance for them. this happens, but there are no strings any longer and it's transparent and clear as to what is happening. apparently even less so for sc2 esports as it is an invididual game. you get knocked out of a tournament by a retired player? that's a wakeup call for the rest of the playing field. | ||
