I really can't believe what the Team League turned into. I went from streaming about 10 matches in the entire Season 1, with 50 teams to streaming about 90 series of the First Division this season, which hosted 100 teams in total (that means about 50 BO7s a week, a lot of which are streamed by the teams as well). It's been a wild ride, with a lot of ups and downs, but mostly ups. Maybe it's because it was the right thing at the right time or something, I don't know.
SC2Improve, and specifically the Team League, has obviously become a big part of my life. When I started this I was looking for people to play SC2 with, now I'm a full time streamer and content producer gaining opportunities to travel the world, talk on TV and just work in an industry I have fallen in love with. It's truly ridiculous, the journey I've been on since 2011.
Tonight's finals once again delivered and I couldn't think of a better way to say goodbye to the SC2Improve brand, but it is truly time for me to move on. It's a name I will never forget, I loved it so much I was even afraid to let others help me run events. Even in Season 6, I ran all three divisions by myself. It's a challenge but it's how I like to do things and it's what I find fun. Hopefully I can continue with that mindset into the future with my new projects and goals.
Full information is going to be coming over the next month, but I will let you all know now : Team League Season 7 is coming, just under a different name. The prize pool is going to match Season 6 as a base, with a lot of incentives for the community to help it grow. I will work hard to really just go one step up on everything this season, and I believe I can do that, as with each season that passes I learn more and more.
We're also bring back the Second & Third division, despite a few months ago me declaring them to be dead. They will be prized as well & will also have a lot more focus on them with their own dedicated content team for streaming etc.
That should be all you guys want to know for now, thank you for reading and to all the teams for a fantastic season. Let's do this all again in October
