True, sponsors want their names to be put out there and be exposed so that viewers would be enticed to pay for their products/services, but what percentage of that money goes directly to the player?

Yes, in the end all the money comes from the viewers in some fashion, and yes, it is important for the scene that the games are fun. But I don't think that players should deliberately pick "fun" builds over another build that they think is more likely to win. It just wouldn't make any sense with all the price money etc, and I don't think it'd be fun for the viewers either, knowing that the players could have done better.
Then we should hate the game instead of the gamer.
