Wait, I think he prob def is top 3 PvT but it's just the numbers are a bit inflated with "easy" opponents and people just quote the number and dont give a single thought to it I don't care that much about the numbers -- they're basically icing on the cake (7-2 vs Maru and 5-1 vs Gumiho is pretty sick though) -- but I find it difficult to pinpoint any weaknesses in Parting's PvT at all. Like, I watch herO and I can tell exactly what an opponent, ideally, should do to beat him. I don't really feel the same about Parting, he's much more difficult to pin down and thus much more difficult to reliably beat. His record supports that. I don't dispute Parting as possible #1 PvT I just want him to go through more of the kr terran scene to prove it 100% is all How much more proof than 7-2 in maps vs Maru in 2015 do you need, really? For reference, herO vs Maru in 2015 is 6-7. Him to beat more terrans I dunno. Some players just have the others number but this discussion is pointless anyway

A lesser skilled player can play better by employing better strategies. Unless we have 5 different kind of marus we cannot quantify skill. Rating is just an estimate.

I was about to make a comment on Fantasy macro but then I saw he had triple mineral income of the 1 of Gumiho...

For the sake of this argument, we'll compare records (I haven't watched all of herO's PvTs today). You're definitely right in that numbers don't say everything, but still:
Parting is 87% (34-5) in offline games vs Korean Terrans, notable opponents including Gumiho (5-1), Fantasy (4-0), MMA (4-1), Maru (7-2). Padding his record: 10-1 vs Ryung.
herO is 68% (26-12) in offline games vs Korean Terrans, notable opponents including Maru (6-7), Bbyong (1-3), Cure (5-1), Flash (if you want to count him as significant right now, 3-0). Padding his record: Taeja (2-0), Sorry (1-0), Center (1-0), Heart (2-0).
I'm not really sure what I'm really arguing at this point other than that I think Parting is better than herO at PvT

I only accept this truth with footnote that the terrans will continue play this way(s).

I would actually prefer if people just ignored the numbers entirely because they mean very little compared to the content of the games themselves, but we can hardly expect people to actually watch the games they're discussing :o

numbers are fine once they get relevant. Like Parting records vT. Main problem is that almost nobody knows how to use stats properly.
