Tod calling out the Top 15 article

Most "top ___" articles on this site are rather rubbish. Taeja is always ranked way too high because he's on Liquid, even though he's never even won a GSL.

Do you remember the SPL article in which they ranked EG-TL as the #1 team in Korea?

I only remember Fionn's personal ranking, could you dig up the article where TL writers agreed on any such thing?

Meh.

Here's 3 of your power rankings from last summer:

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/471117-power-rank-post-blizzcon-edition

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/467757-power-rank-september-2014

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/466067-power-rank-august-2014

Taeja on every single one, ahead of multiple people who had recently won GSLs and were performing very well in proleague.

Yeah that's a good case for him being biased towards Taeja if you don't read them

A post Kespa GSL win is greater than anything Taeja has ever accomplished in his career. It is pure bias.

Then Taeja's beating the players who have done that in offline bo5s mean nothing.. Also each of those rankings aren't all time rankings rofl it's a POWER RANK as in who is in the best form at the time. At those times Taeja was coming off victories over many of the other players on the list.

Power rank doesn't rank achievements. At Blizzcon for example TaeJa beat Code S champion INnoVation and Code S finalist soO; so there's no reason for him to be behind them on the list just because they achieved X in GSL.

Would you really argue with the post-Blizzcon one? Like, Life won Blizzcon in very strong fashion, and only Zest and TaeJa were even real obstacles to him.

TaeJa was easily the final boss for Life no doubt about it. Zest was on paper extremely difficult to beat, but Life showed up with a plan. Then he finally figured out San, so he wasn't an issue, leaving a player that he has had if memory serves a rather poor record against. He won, and then he destroyed an on fire MMA. TaeJa on the other hand beat the top 2 of the most recent GSL only to lose to eventual winner of Blizzcon. I say this not as a TaeJa fanboy, but as a neutral party. TL as a whole doesn't suffer from TaeJa bias. Why should they? None of the writers are directly affiliated with the TL team. Zealously has been very vocal in regards to this in the past. I don't agree that TaeJa is number one, but all the TL writers haters are simply obnoxious.

Show me post KeSPA GSL champions who have the consistency or the results TaeJa has. It is most certainly not bias.

This tournament finals has shown IMAO the strength of BioMech in TvP. It's been a very good lesson on that style, showing that is very, very viable, but will always be more rigged than Bio and Protoss will always exploit that.

2 Base BioMech became a pain in the ass to PartinG, which is right now one of the best Protosses, well known for having a very strong PvT. However, the 2base BioTankRaven with complementary support from other Mech units put him under true pressure..

But PartinG outmicroed GumiHo, who made lots of bad moves.dropping, not repositioning, not setting up base defense and what's more, lacking of expansions, getting outmacroed most of the times. GumiHo also had a hard time getting the right amounts of Mech and Bio to combine and the right amounts of units.

In game 1, he had a hard time because was playing very bio heavy vs a ChargelotArchonStom build, which is a very good counter to bio, and didn't build defensive turrets or bunker, nor Hellion/Hellbats, which are natural counters to HT and Zealots, specially from drops.

In game 2, he went full Mech, something that by default is relatively weaker vs Protoss, but it turned to be more effective than expected, but was outmacroed and harrassed over and over again since he lacked of defensive mechanisms Despite that, it was a very close game. Maybe too close, considering the economical supperiority of Protoss.

In game 3, he was outmacroed again, and outplayed many times.

In game 4he went Bio against a Blink-All-in and died miserably because the army was out when the attack hit.
