Lots of people forgetting the one and only Optimus Prime: Polt ! While he didn't win Code S, he did win the Super Tournament, which counts as a Code S season. And he won it while being a PRIME member.

The Dark hype is astronomical. I'm not ready to count Solar out until he bombs in the gsl, could just be an SPL thing. Soulkey's fine guys, really. Dream hasn't done a whole lot to convince me he's gotten over his TvT problem and his TvP wasn't quite as impressive as his TvZ, Yonghwa should have beaten him. I think PartinG is in the tier below. As much as I love him he's not of the same class as the other players. Although he is capable of beating some of the higher tier players like Maru (duh). Same goes for Soulkey. Not totally convinced. I also think Rain and Maru should be switched but based on recent results I won't really fight over it. Anyway hopefully Rain wins this season. I also want to see a Life vs Inno showdown to determine the best player in the world. Consistency factored in heavily to my rank with more weight given to recent results. PartinG has essentially been a top-tier protoss since early 2012. He's a Nestea Award recipient and made ro16+ all of last year. He has a comparable win rate to the protoss in his tier. I might even consider him more solid overall than herO, who's only ever made 1 code S ro8 and even fell out of the gsl in s3 last year. For a player of herO's caliber, he seems to have a glaring weakness in PvP. PartinG does not have any obvious flaws imo. Not to mention, he has the best micro of any protoss. Unlike Rain, he also made both Korean leagues for 2015. All together I think he's earned his keep. Soulkey is just off a semi-final at IEM (beat Rain along the way). Despite what people say, I thought he had a good 2014 as well. Didn't win anything, but he only played in Korea where he was very consistent. He's extremely tenacious as well which is an important quality in this type of tournament.
That makes sense. I can't wait to see how the groups pan out. Even the top tier players have matchups they might want to avoid. I think Rain is capable of beating Life, PartinG beating Maru, and herO beating Innovation.

If PartinG can avoid getting into group with more than 1 Zerg, he will be in Ro8. Having top-2 PvT and finally finding some groove in PvP again is no joke. If he randomly going to get both Dark and Solar, let's say, then I won't bet on him at all.

So hyped for these group drawings.
Top: - Life - herO - Maru - INnoVation
High: - Rain - PartinG - TY - Dark
Mid: - MC - Dream - MMA - Rogue - Soulkey
Low: - Terminator - YoDa - Solar
These are my rankings, I'll admit to being a bit of a Maru fanboy, don't really know if he really deserves a place on top but god I just love watching this guy play Starcraft II!
I've based these prediction around who I would think would be favored if they met in proleague which means I haven't taken the different BO situation in account. Yoda and Dream are both on the cusp of going up a rank but since they are mostly profficient at certain matchups I kept them as you see them.

Very agreed, but I don't see many players picking MC. Maybe Rain, maybe Maru, maybe Life. That's it. herO certainly ain't picking him after the narrow 2-3 at Blizzcon, and not a lot of Terrans would have the balls to pick a Protoss who became the highest earner in SC2 pretty much exclusively off of 1 and 2-base all ins. That's just asking for trouble.
I much sooner see Life picking Yoda/MMA, Inno picking Dream, and Maru picking Terminator... apart.

Of course anything can happen, I'm just responding to FMW's claim that MC will probably be one of the first players picked. I can think of a better first pick for just about every player there, so I suspect it isn't that probable. Maybe Yoda would pick him, vsMC is his best head-to-head.

Not according to Aligulac.
"Under these filters, MC is 6–11 (35.29%) in games and 1–5 (16.67%) in matches against YoDa."
And his one series win was before the WM buff last year.
