Don't get me wrong, it's the hardest qualifier there is, but where are the newcomers? I know almost every player, where are the random teamless korean ladder heroes? There are more unknown people competing in the WCS qualifiers. That's because of two things: the Korean infrastructure is ridiculously advanced, allowing far, FAR more Korean players to become known internationally, and these qualifiers are held offline, so fewer randoms show up to play, assuming they wouldn't have a chance anyway.
Hm I guess you are right. Somehow when I think of Korea I still have that image of hundreds of Koreans, all incredibly good that could easily go far in any foreign event. But I guess it's actually not or no longer the case, since even a lot of foreigners are GM in KR. Like catz is nowhere near the top even among foreigners and can still get pretty high GM in KR. Guess the younger people prefer LoL since it's free. Not sure really, but it's kinda sad to see so few new names.

So there are still two groups stuck in single elim - group 4 waiting on Seed v Sensual/Dookie and group 6 waiting on SGW v DRG. Some groups look like they're going to advance a player before they even get to the dual tournament.

Yeah that isn't even close to the reality of it.

Then race switched to Protoss right as blink Stalker play dominated. Just the worst kind of person.

Yep Patience easily qualified for SSL, no wonder when you reached the semi finals of the hardest league in the world.
