Lol i fell asleep after g2 of the grand finals and just watched the vods :D SO GOOD! No surprise that Life won so easily but I'm very happy that he did ^^ Overall this Blizzcon has been pretty amazing imo, besides some of the matches in the top half of the bracket and the delays. Also the fact that Starcraft 2 had +150k viewers and the best e-sports stage I have ever seen + huge crowd is just amazing. Afaik there is no other highly competitive RTS and I do worry every now and then - no more I think Life is like a zerg MC (only better)? He just has that killer instinct and clutch micro and he keeps coming back for more wins..

The technical difficulties made watching pretty tedious in the beginning, but the games were very good overall. Especially the Life vs. Taeja series was very very close and exciting. It always amazes me how Life is able to capitalize on the smallest mistakes of his opponent.

As a zerg player, I'm happy. But I'm also happy for MMA. He showed amazing games this Blizzcon and it's really good to see him back in shape.

SC2 has never been better.
first we make expand, then we defense it.

Life is in his LIFE's shape right now. I didn't think he would beat Taeja but he did and it was convincing. His zvt was brilliant with the mixing of strategis and the dealing with pressure. Suddenly I want to ling bling all in in every game. The way he counters with whole armies and still defends is something others should try too.

Someone should add to the header "- Lichter the newb."

Interesting results. What were the fun games to go and watch? And where can i find the vods please?

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2014_WCS_Global_Finals#Bracket

Press the 'i' next to each game and there are VOD links there.

IMO the good games were:

Polt vs Classic G1 G2 G3
MC vs herO G3
Zest vs Life G3
soO vs TaeJa G1 G2
TaeJa vs INoVation G1 G4
TaeJa vs Life G1 G2

soO vs TaeJa G3
San vs Life G3
Polt vs Classic G4

I liked Taeja Life G4 a lot, it really looks standard at first, but the amount of sharp decision making (those 3 queens!!!) and the marine/banes micro battle inside Taeja natural made it a very high level game IMHO...

MMA vs Classic game 2 was cool too - whole series would have so exciting without all the tech problems...

Life Taeja G2 is pretty weird (and interesting).

It was already listed so I didn't talk about it, but after watching it live I though it was one of the best of the year, I will have to rewatch it to be sure though

Mma played the best this entire tournament but two factors.

1. Mma hasn't faced a zerg yet and life already battle tested a top terran

2. Mma wasn't ready to face an all inner like life. Kind of a cheap victory IMO by life

Actually this doesn't change my opinion of life at all while I continue to gain respect for mma except for a botched finals

I'm reasonably sure being able to stop all-ins is a fairly important part of being a SC2 progamer. To say that MMA "played the best this entire tournament" in such a matter-of-factly way after Life beat Zest, San and Taeja alongside him seems kind of questionable

Life had to go 3-2 against zest and taeja. Both great players. While mma steamrolled all three opponents he faced. Mma was playing better this tournament until he was caught unprepared for a snute like baneling all in game after game. So I still think mma played the best this tournament . another disadvantage was that mma never faced a zerg yet but life already faced a top 3 terran. I believe that the finals should have been played today or a championship Sunday so both opponents can prepare for each other.

"Had to go 3-2 against Zest and Taeja" could that possibly be because Zest and Taeja are harder than anyone MMA had to face?
