Ok guys, we're receiving a large amount of reports concerning balance whining, so we're going to be harsher and start banning.

With how common the knowledge is that SC2 has a massively high mechanical skill ceiling, sOs is the guy that proves you can win the biggest prize pools with some of the most basic strategies in Starcraft's history. He's like a modern Mvp, only less successful, more cheesy and a dirty Protoss. I don't think there's anything particularly simple about sOs' strategies (compared to his peers). They are off the wall mixed in with some well timed proxies. Most crucially he lacks the massive underdog element that made Mvp who he was in his later years. Like when I watch sOs proxy gates, I just see him run over a guy. I don't see his gates get scouted, then beaten back, then he's forced to make an all out gamble in a surprise ambush behind the smoke to make a comeback. He reminds me more of Naniwa with higher mechanical strength and the best ideas of players like Myungsik, Trap and PigBaby rolled into one. I just don't feel tension when I watch sOs games. He either crushes or gets crushed.

It says so here (http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/11702848/starcraft-ii-world-championship-series-2014-11-20-2013) in the official WCS rule announcement at least.

Don't get me wrong, sOs has brilliant execution and his ability to play out a BoX series with different builds each game is very Mvp-esque. But at the end of the day a cannon rush is still a cannon rush, a proxy rush is still a proxy rush. Any newbie can watch what sOs is doing and try and replicate it on the ladder, it isn't nearly as difficult as say learning all of the little nuances in what Rain does.
