These stats are horrible, not only has bunny performed far better than Scarlet in recent times, at least, but he is also almost 400 points ahead of Scarlett. He does have a harder group in IEM right now, but both of them are also in their own region in WCS, and she is not part of any WCS point related tournaments that he cant go to, as far as I know at least.

it's based on aligulac ratings, and Scarlett is confirmed for Red Bull Washington

None of the sources from anywhere say that red bull washington awards any WCS points, they only announced a prize pool, nothing about WCS points, anywhere at all.

My understanding was that Red Bull Washington happened after Blizzcon, so the points wouldn't matter for the 2014 cycle.

no it's before

Washington is in September and Blizzcon is in November

Wait... Washington doesn't have any qualifiers, right? :S

And now someone's catching on. You could argue they had one, won by Cure, but no more.

There were a lot of qualifiers, actually. All the individual RB events act as qualifiers, and they had their own set of qualifiers.

The individual Red Bull events acted as events. Full tournaments with their own stages, match-by-match schedules, and two of them with their own WCS points. Those are NOT qualifiers.

Global & North America didn't give any points so they can be qualifiers. no one said qualifier couldnt give lot of money
Online was a pure qualifier with no prize pool

Considering that Global and North America had their own qualifiers, with the reward being a trip out to Southern California and the ability to play in the money-awarding part of the event, which had a completely different format, that is very shaky ground to stand on.
The world is better when every background has a chance.

They act like qualifiers, just like the DH:Open events did for Dreamhack Winter last year.

I think he is getting what you mean, but says that this method of player seeding cannot be counted as qualifiers defined in the WCS rules.

Blizzard have demonstrated that they are willing to very nearly ignore their own rules. A big tournament like DC will have WCS points, I can almost guarantee it.

Maybe we should make our own WCS point list, with actual rules

I don't think its that dumb. It gives players a chance to qualify for Blizzcon even if they do poorly in WCS, which I think is quite fair. It also creates some great storylines.

Yea, its weird as fuck. Last year Hyun got 3 top8, 3 ro4, 2 silvers and 1 gold and still didnt make it. This year Jaedong gets 3 ro8s, 4 ro4s and a participation award from WCS AM and is guaranteed a spot.

Dreamhack Winter was after Blizzcon and had no relevance to the WCS system, which is what's being discussed here.

Look, I'm saying that you absolutely should not be surprised to see WCS points being handed out for Red Bull DC. Since it takes place before Blizzcon and has had players qualify (through separate events, granted), I feel like it's a sure thing that Blizzard will make sure to reward the players that made it for their efforts. Do the rules say that they can do that? Maybe not, but they don't exactly have any reservations with stretching the rules.

Leenock is also a SH player. He even kind of plays like it like Snute. Except more sloppily with more counter attacks and less creep spread. But he is willing to use it.
