I'm a bit more nervous because of Welmu's tweet yesterday where he tweeted that he had stomach problems last week and even forgot that his games were today and not yesterday lol. Also because I don't think his PvP stands out too much to his other matchups.

i don't know about everyone else but personally i watch A LOT less sc2 than i used to in general. and when i do watch, it's almost always GSL/SPL because the times are better for me and the games are better and the players are more interesting to me for the most part. like, this group has 3 players i don't care about at all (no offense to any of them) and TLO, who's cool but not someone i'm super excited for either. if this group was like Grubby, Mvp, Stephano and Thorzain or something i'd watch every second of it and then watch the VODs three times in a row.

that's completley false. Watch any games by Maru, Taeja Flash etc. Flash is the only top top top level Korean terran who does a lot of scv pulls, but he is also able to win macro games.

At that point with the sentry energy he had left the time he would have bought would have been borderline irrelevant. I can understand his decision to throw guardian shields which are so pivotal. But if he just lets his third die and warps non stop while preparing to overcharge his main/natural (imagine if he could have overcharged his natural in the game !) he was perfectly fine.

You dont, but alot of the times its needed. I sadly dont remember alot of games where protoss even held that. Most recent one i saw was San vs Morrow and Parting vs Bbyong (i think it was Bbyong).

Well fungal being pure, un-dodgable AOE, it certainly made the combo much more difficult to deal with. And the IT getting range upgrades as well.

I think it's the meta.
Zergs seem to absolutely refuse to scout proxy locations or go pool first in 2 player maps.
It's as if Zergs expect Terrans to just not be that aggressive early on and then ending up dying to it.
Similarly to Proxy Oracle in TvP, the mere fact it exists means it has to be respected and taken into account.
Otherwise Terran is just coinflipping whether or not Protoss is doing it.
As such, Terran builds have evolved to either have enough Marines in the mineral line, or get a Turret or Mine.
I think Zerg needs to make a similar adaption in their builds and start taking into account the threat of a 2rax is real.

Not necessarily. I'd say that male tennis despite the relatively short series is one of the least variable sports almost to an oppressive level. Just look at how heavily Federer Nadal and Djokovic have dominated the scene.

Yeah. Most sports' formats aren't in any way optimal to get a fair test of skill. They have an excessively long season to allow the home crowds to see their team play followed by a short playoff to crown a winner.

The longest Karpov-Kasparov lasted over 5 months, from 10th September 1984 to 15th February 1985.

I actually had an idea being a fair amateur chess player, but I don't think such long matches would even be entertaining. So I preferred a best of 30 to something crazy like they did at the time. The analogue would probably be a BO500 and barely make any sense.

Expected players advanced. Two clear favorites, Welmu's game was a bit shaky for his standards, but was enough to overcome.
