Lol sacsri?? He is code b lol. And he won the foreign league. Trap?? He won the mlg and fall in code s ro 32 lol. Do you think mc can really compete with korean gsl guys?. Hydra?? Code a level but crush mc lol. code a and code s are a different type of tournament structure than most foreign tournaments, where you get a lot of time to prepare for a specific match. so it really isn't even worth comparing some top code S players have gone to foreign tournament and lost at tournaments anyways Korean player sent only 3players at time. So they have not many chance. If runner compete with kespa 16:16 do they have a chance?? Even this situation hydra and solar beat every am and eu player? Solar is Code S, and beat Innovation 3-0, then proceeded to lose to Taeja, Taeja is a WCS AM player. Lol taeja 5-5 in SPL code 16, and run to am. And you are making a really small variable Yea I never said he was the best player in the world, just countering you saying that Solar and Hydra would beat every WCS EU and WCS AM player. No one is arguing with you, yes GSL players are the best, that's why I wake up at 4am to watch GSL.

while i agree that the wcs system has its weaknesses, i believe that it's wrong to say that the players who "ran" from korea, wouldn't even make it to code a. jjakji made it to the ro8 in gsl code S before leaving korea to join WCS EU

Although First lately isn't as good as he was when he was in Code S. Pigbaby is a "runner" too, but he made it to Code S. San, Hyun, Polt (maybe not recently), and probably ForGG would all at least make Code A I think. edit: also Trap may have lost in the ro32 but plenty of top players have done that once in a while, Trap also once made top 8 in Code S losing to his teammate and the champion Dear. And that was immediately after he lost in MLG to Polt and Naniwa I think.

KeSPA, or anyone else in Korea, simply isn't running Weekend Tournaments. They're a very different style and the "Code S/Code A" distinction doesn't mean as much in an weekend setting. This is repeatedly shown when a slate of Code S players shows up to tournament. (MC's ability to travel well is, possibly, his most underrated skill)
And the problem with the WCS system, in the main tournaments, is that it favors multi-day planning for Matches, within a specific Meta during the year. A player simply gets on a hot streak for a month and he's suddenly "best in the world!", yet he struggles the next time out. Yet, as we see time & again in weekend tournaments, those players that can prepare for 1 opponent best aren't necessarily as good as ones that just handle a huge set of matches better. Which is a different skill set, and both are different from the ProLeague skill set.
The WCS's points for outside tournaments, however, does force players that want to a run at Blizzcon to attend those tournaments. Which is, frankly, the point of the system. If it's a sport, the entire point is to put on a show. We want the better players attending tournaments. It makes things a whole lot better.
And we need more ShoutCrafts with the currently peaking Proleague players. DAMN was that a good tournament.

An example is DH moscow. No way does that deserve 750 points. If WCS finals each season are removed at least give GSL more points....

(In korea, players who run to wcs am or eu is called 'runner') mc is wcs rainking 1?? Hydra who beat mc 2-0 is even code a. They should really make runners back to korea. Thats every koreans idea.
It is moronic to not take advantage of the WCS system as it stands, rather than trying to slave away attempting to get noticed in a tournament that has far too few spots for the number of talented players in Korea.
"Hey yeah you should come back to Korea and play in Code A where you earn less money". Why? That is the attitude of an amateur. A professional gamer will maximize his chances of making prizemoney during his career, if he is able to.

Anyone want to talk Red Bull day 2?

Wow, Polt is going to be coming right into this day from Destiny I where he has a Best of 5 against Innovation o_O
|
I like starcraft.
I am only praying that a terran can survive somehow.

There will be 2 TvZ and the rest of the tournaments will be ZvZ. Hopefully Polt can win at least one TvZ.

Polt is actually playing Apocalypse but nonetheless he'll have to get up earlier than his RBBG competitors to play

MMA picks first... who should he pick to not get eliminated? I would pick Hydra if I was MMA. I think of all the zergs left, Hydra probably has the weakest ZvT?

I would have picked Impact, but after seeing his domination of Polt yesterday, it's a really hard choice. I think he will pick DRG though.

I was thinking along much the same lines, Impact would've been my target as Terran until he rekted Polt....now....I'm not sure I like any choice....I mean I could target Polt again but that just makes me the target the rest of the day if I get through that match....I still think MMA will pick Impact though, he has been in the Axiom house with the guy before, with one life I thinks he sticks with what he knows.
