I think you're arguing for a region lock here because some of the top players don't deserve it. Let's look at MC's recent tournament results against koreans this year:
Not particularly great. However, MC competes in so many foreigner tournaments (which anyone in korea could do although it's more difficult) that he can still win or place highly in a lot of tournaments. Region lock doesn't have a lot to do with it.

people can do whatever they want to. mc is a professional he needs to make money with gaming, he does it in his own way. going abroad and beating "easy foreigners". flash was abroad and failed, ty was abroad and failed, maru was in europe and failed horribly, it's not as easy as it may look like.

My point is that the format rewards people that compete in more tournaments and place well. So people in code S/A should be going to more foreign tournaments.

Don't forget about First and Bomber too. Although First lately isn't as good as he was when he was in Code S. Pigbaby is a "runner" too, but he made it to Code S. San, Hyun, Polt (maybe not recently), and probably ForGG would all at least make Code A I think. edit: also Trap may have lost in the ro32 but plenty of top players have done that once in a while, Trap also once made top 8 in Code S losing to his teammate and the champion Dear. And that was immediately after he lost in MLG to Polt and Naniwa I think.
KeSPA, or anyone else in Korea, simply isn't running Weekend Tournaments. They're a very different style and the "Code S/Code A" distinction doesn't mean as much in an weekend setting. This is repeatedly shown when a slate of Code S players shows up to tournament. (MC's ability to travel well is, possibly, his most underrated skill)
And the problem with the WCS system, in the main tournaments, is that it favors multi-day planning for Matches, within a specific Meta during the year. A player simply gets on a hot streak for a month and he's suddenly "best in the world!", yet he struggles the next time out. Yet, as we see time & again in weekend tournaments, those players that can prepare for 1 opponent best aren't necessarily as good as ones that just handle a huge set of matches better. Which is a different skill set, and both are different from the ProLeague skill set.
The WCS's points for outside tournaments, however, does force players that want to a run at Blizzcon to attend those tournaments. Which is, frankly, the point of the system. If it's a sport, the entire point is to put on a show. We want the better players attending tournaments. It makes things a whole lot better.
And we need more ShoutCrafts with the currently peaking Proleague players. DAMN was that a good tournament.

It is moronic to not take advantage of the WCS system as it stands, rather than trying to slave away attempting to get noticed in a tournament that has far too few spots for the number of talented players in Korea.
"Hey yeah you should come back to Korea and play in Code A where you earn less money". Why? That is the attitude of an amateur. A professional gamer will maximize his chances of making prizemoney during his career, if he is able to.

I was thinking along much the same lines, Impact would've been my target as Terran until he rekted Polt....now....I'm not sure I like any choice....I mean I could target Polt again but that just makes me the target the rest of the day if I get through that match....I still think MMA will pick Impact though, he has been in the Axiom house with the guy before, with one life I thinks he sticks with what he knows.

this tournament is everything sc2 needs. code s level play is amazing and all but as an alternative this just smashes WCS AM/EU, shoutcraft, even IEM/DH, really anything else we get. so fun, so creative, so involved, the best casters in the business (in my opinion, except apollo), etc. really innovative and awesome content

Pre-buffed mines... Also, everyone will whine when their player loses. Widow mine randomness is still broken either way, they should be microed individually like baneling mines or at least have some sort of consistency when left alone.

That's how things works when somoene is eliminated. There is always 6 picks everyday, so if there's only 3 player (for instance) each players will pick 2 times

No the manual targetting is still there. What he is suggesting is that you could disable widow mines to prevent them from firing.

You can't bait it but it means it won't go off on its own, so it will just do nothing if its in manual mode. Proplayers already kinda do this if they have claws but unburrowing and borrowing quickly. If anything though, it would mostly just prevent friendly fire. Imagine if banes did friendly fire!

Banes with friendly fire would simply not work except as landmines. Widow mines are fairly functional despite friendly fire.

inno was just sleepy, he told destiny that if there were tiebreakers he would have to play the next day. just look at the games, he scouted the wrong location

True, but as I edited in last time why not eliminate Hydra/Impact now, he'll get 1st pick tomorrow (Highest remaining seed) so he can eliminate the other, then it makes it best of 4 series with an ace match with Solar

Half of the players left in Destiny I are terrans as well? I'd say Terran is doing pretty well, considering those tournaments with no high-placing terrans had few to begin with...

he was scouting wrong locations in Code S as well. I think he learned only like today about the map changes.

i mean maybe he was sleepy but he scouted the wrong location on deadwing also in his match against paralyze in code s, he just didn't know that horizontal spawns were disabled

DRG doesn't pick first tomorrow. Hydra (or Impact if Hydra is eliminated) picks first. It continues around the circle.

Yeah same, but it does have its logic. If he wins, he weakens Solar, and puts himself in a good position for Day 3. If he loses everyone is on 1 but Solar, so everyone picks Solar.

I wouldn't say he has it easy. All of these guys remaining have a decent shot to win but this is looking like DRG's best chance in a long time to win a tournament.
Asked DRG about the Overgrowth game : he explained that the timing of roach upgrades and zerglings feel different since with roaches you get lair and then you get your upgrades but if you want zergling melee upgrade you need to start it before lair and he didn't see any zergling speed either, he said he wasn't a 100% sure but pretty close to it :D sick soul read.
