I don't know where it started, but I saw it a lot in hearthstone streams a lot. Then all of a sudden after years of not seeing donations on sc2 streams they were everywhere. I mean I'm glad people want to support starcraft streams but I feel like it's mostly personalities and meh players that get most of the donations

When diablo 3 expansion got released, i checked it through a stream. The guy was basically saying "i will suck your dick" every minute or so about donations or subs.

Yeah but this guy has 3/4 of is overlay about donation, race domation, top donator, 4k$ goal (wtf), 400 sub goal (wtf²).
This guy is making more than 7k$ a month for mediocre content because he is begging so much. I find it pitiful, really. In the meantime you see players like Mvp not even reaching 200 viewers.

There's a reason caster don't show the player views often because unless you are a high level player you have no idea whats going on.

Could we guarantee that people, who watch for entertainment wouldn't just wander off to another game though? Idk if someone who watches for example Winter over Mvp would turn into Mvp if Winter wouldn't exist, or rather search for a personality similar to Winter in LoL, Hearthstone or elsewhere.

Yeah but what's Winters "thing"? He didn't seem to play at a particular high level, do funny strat or say funny things and as said the stream is spammed by donation shit.
