back to soo though does he get a kong award now?

Woot Classic Won!! Long Live Chintoss. Guess Soo just won the King of Kong title from MKP and Yellow lol. Guess we'll see Soo in another finals next season!!

If you say this when a brand new player wins the championship, I will say we have different view of the game or players.
But you say this when Classic wins, that just shows your ignorance.

Some of you guys don't know how hard is it to be consistent as Protoss. Anyone can make an all-in, "anyone" can win with a death ball, anyone can lose a PvP!
|
Mmmm forgot about this since I was glued to SGDQ, need to rewatch the vods. I see there is plenty of QQing as in any protoss thread.

People bitching about Protoss imbalance and never actually appreciating the fact that Dear, Zest or Classic all played extremely well to earn their titles set my teeth on edge. Maybe Protoss is slightly favored atm, but tell me of a time when no race was favored. At the end, the players who win are always damn good.

When Classic moved in to the spines without a it was epic - new meta. Or when he tried to faceroll with the a-move and had to recall like 5 times because of lings in his main on the map with the smallest posible choke ever and eventually lose. I don't know is it from stress or lack of skills but it's definitely not a "extremely well" even by masters league standards. Also i still can't forget all those PvP with proxy DT against proxy DT or proxy oracle all day everyday or how sOs won the entire thing with cannon rushes. Toss has so many gimmicks which depend only on your opponent skill - not yours, that it's really hard to appreciate.
But he's definitely not a bad player, but not the best in the world. Imagine if you could win the Olympics with severe mistakes. It will devalue challenge for everyone.

When did sOs win entire thing with cannon rushes, care to show?
Dear was dominating when he was a champion, almost as hard as INnoVation was back into last spring, Zest has 2 almost impeccable matchups where you simply have to play out of your mind to win against him and Classic outmacroed Maru to be in the finals. It's not like InCa came and won 19 games in a row with dt openers.

Ehhh. I dunno. I know it is incredibly hard to stay consistent in Korea because everyone is so good, but it seems like every Protoss that wins lately is just the flavor of the month.

Classic and Zest are by far the most solid tosses around .Even Rain isn't as solid .

I didn't watch the finals and from the comments I guess it was kinda terrible from both sides, but you have to take into account the fact it was a teamkill and the pressure inherent to a GSL finals. I can understand players not showing their A game and crumbling under pressure in that situation (remember the infamous Soulkey - sOs...). The Classic I watched against Maru for instance earned his place in the finals with class.

You can't say Zest is a mere "flavor of the month". He lost against TRUE in a very disappointing way, but otherwise his performances are still stellar (and honestly, Korea is so stacked even a ro8 remains quite impressive and something to be proud of). And I'm sure Dear will show what he's made of by qualifying again for code S and making a deep run. Those players are freakin good, like unbelievably solid. You don't win a GSL based on luck or imbalance.

Yeah I like how when a Terran is dominant like INnoVatioN or Maru he's the best RTS player to ever touch a mouse and a keyboard, whereas a Protoss who shows the same skills is merely the luckiest gimmick based fucker of the tournament who made only one good move during the game, choosing Protoss. People should grow up.

Soos face after he gged the fourth time almost broke my heart.

I'm so bummed I fell asleep before this started
Huge congrats to Classic! The guy has been playing like a beast for several months and definitely deserves this. And poor soOkong... next season for soO for sure.
|
Not surprised. Chintoss has been a beast since '13, he's been getting better and better after making the switch.
Sad for SoO, at least he gets a bunch of prizemoney though.
