Well, at least HerO made Taeja work harder for that than anyone else. Can't be too sad about this tournament considering his overall form coming into it.
Good night yalls!

As of the present, Mvp is still the most decorated player in SC2's history. 4 GSLs trumps a fistful of foreign tournament wins easy.

these gsl vs international debates are 1000x worse than soccer chat

True. Those leagues are more prestigious and I wouldn't quite give Taeja the crown just yet, but there is a point where the quantity of lesser tournament wins begins to surpass a few quality tournament wins imo. TL naming Taeja as player of the year in 2013 for instance I could agree with, even if he didn't win a gsl or anything. Foreign tournaments require their own type of skill too. We've seen guys like Flash, RorO and TY come and get smashed at these.
The Dreamhack Winter Taeja won was hard as fuck too. Ripped "Blizzcon best player in the world" sOs a new one.

Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE more crosspollination between the regions, if for no other reason than so GSL Koreans can earn more WCS points as they deserve! too busy with those 3 GSL's per year with rounds spread out weeks apart? yeah so busy! When there were 9 GSL's in 2011 we still saw the top GSL players at international events. i hope people like stork and armani who went to HSC tell samsung that outside of kore experiences are veery impoortant too.
maybe even send some B teamers to europe to let them gain experience.

If they can't play just as well outside Korea as they can inside it then they're just weak. The most successful players of all time have been able to place well consistently inside and outside Korea. TaeJa was a GSL beast too when he played there anyways. Even before TaeJa hit his top form, he did consecutive Ro8 GSL finishes, and two Ro4 later.

While TaeJa being on the international circuit obviously makes sense, I wish we had more opportunities to see him face off against the likes of Maru, Soulkey, etc. Well, maybe they should come at DreamHack then.
Well, I would love it if they did. As an aside, the last time TaeJa and Maru played was in June 2012, no less!

With kespa being the only Korean teams left, there is no incentive for them to fly players out. Which is why you only see Koreans that win qualifiers go out and some of the Ex-ESF teams cause they still feel obligated to do it.

Yep. He was the only guy who not only didn't crumble to Life but dominated him too.

Not sure about it, but doesn't it actually create some more hype to not have all korean starting brackets? cause that what happens if korean teams send their players all around the world. people are hyped for some foreigners, and there's always the "foreigner vs. korean" story line - and in terms of current skill level of foreigners, I think their already rare ro16/ro8 appearances will diminish to ro32 appearances.. maybe.
